Medium-dark reddish garnet in color with an ever-so-slight clearing at edges. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe red fruit aromas of dark cherries, blueberries & strawberries with overtones of floral notes of violets & spice notes, earthy/dusty, cola, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Drinks quite …

I want to rate this wine really high because it’s different, it’s good, it’s intriguing. It’s a great wine. The sum of its parts is greater than the specifics added up. This is wonderfully experiential. Nose is quiet with some smoky notes. Texture is gorgeous with candied notes over just a bit of tannins. Palate has candied cherries and dried sweet oranges. Spice notes are fading but still present enough to make this an enjoyable ride. Acidity is perfectly balanced. …

Pnp, purchased a decade ago direct from the winery, last bottle. Floral nose, dark cherry, plum, pomegranate, hints of spice, firm acidity, wish there was more in the way of terroir. Based on this well stored bottle, I would drink sooner than later!

Medium Burgundy color; no discernable bricking at the rim.. Enticingly fragrant and complex nose: Grignotte cherries, red fruit, silky and smooth. On the palate: a good mouthful, complex and attractive with well integrated acidity. Medium long finish. At the end some dusty tannins appear which tell me that any remaining bottles should be drunk up within the next couple of years.

This was open for a couple hours and during the first hour the wine drank young. As it opened up you could tell it was 14 years old with the dark fruit flavors changing to Tobacco, leather and earth. If you like tertiary flavors, this wine should go a few years. If you prefer more fruit, drink up.

Earthy notes and a hint of being corked on the nose, but not corked. Tart red fruit and very fine tannins remain. Nice bottle with chicken and a mushroom soup.

This wine showed no sign of being 11 years old. Beautiful and ample red fruit elegantly balanced with acidity. All very silky and easy to drink! Wow!

Dense and dark red Burgundy color; compared to the Homage of the same year, this bottle shows less silk/satin and is more angular. Cedary notes on the nose; tannin is more on the pronounced side. Definitively a more "masculine" wine. On the palate, as well is shows more austere, with noticeable acidity and tannin. If Homage is more "Musigny"-like this one shows more like a "Clos Vougeot" Really quite a contrast and we should have had the Shea before the …

Dark ruby garnet in color. Expressive aromas of macerated dark red berries and florals, spice and hint of cola on the nose. Broad and lush palate shows sweet dark berries, cola, medium acidity, fine tannins and a long spice and fruit filled finish.

A bit closed and sharp upon opening, but really improved with a couple hours of air. Lots of fruit, good balance for a robust style. Should continue to improve, revisit in 2025.

Very smooth, rounded and refined. Fully developed. Has good depth and concentration. Confirms my opinion that of all the Bergstrom wines, the Shea and Bergstrom vineyard bottling are the best. Am not so sure about the overall quality of the 2012 vintage anymore. From memory 2008 had more complexity.

Similar to my last note from a year ago perhaps showing more fruit and structure. Fruity (black cherry and raspberry) and spicy, with some green sous-bois. Rich and structured. Definitely no delicate, shy wallflower. Tasty, if not subtle.

Maybe just a touch cranberry - under ripe on the nose. Rounded on the palate. Smooth and lush. Right in the prime. With swirling so open and beautiful. Just wonderful.

Cherry, currant and dark berries, copious sous-bois and, with air, spice, whether from oak or stems I don't know. One reason for the hesitation on the oak is that it didn't taste oaky or have particularly oaky characteristics, although it does see some new oak. Big and expansive in the mouth, but not heavy, owing to the strong acid line. Juicy, vibrant and full of flavor. An excellent pinot in the extrovert category.

Medium ruby color, with aromas of dark fruit, wet cedar forest, and spice. Dark, slightly aged, and lush flavors of black raspberry, dried black cherry and cranberry with notes of espresso and dark chocolate on a long finish. Delicious wine, no reason to wait, but will be there for some more years.

Willamette Valley May 2019; 5/17/2019-5/18/2019 : Nicely aged. Some plummy earthiness on nose. Fruit core. Oak underneath. Mellowed nicely, but would prefer raw material with a bit more fruit.

Delicious! Medium ruby color, with aromas of cedar, cherry and spice. Rich favors of blackberry, cherry, and cranberry on the finish, with bright acidity and nice medium weight that accentuates the fruit without overwhelming, nice balance. It m at not be at peak, but not far from it, this wine has a long window though, so now or 5 years from now this will be great.

Lovely Oregon Pinot, elegant, balanced, yet full of juicy nuances, plum, raspberry, cherry, cassis, earthy minerals, incredibley long finish. Purchased from the winery, the most Burgundian I have had to date, certainly ready to drink but may yet improve with another year or so.
