Pencil shavings, broad shoulders, better second day. Will try again in 3 years. Looking for earthy notes. Still round with generous fruit.

Perhaps just a touch past its peak but excellent nonetheless. Medium bodied with bright acidity and smooth tannins. Tertiaries dominate but there is still a bit of dark cherry in the background. The finish is longish making for an excellent offering.

Just not very good. Did not hold up to cellaring - past its prime…a bit flabby… poor qpr

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and prune. It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune, oak, vanilla and cinnamon. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

Still drinking well, but definitely past its peak. If you like older wine you will enjoy this. Notes of Leather, stewed plum, and baking spices. If you have in your cellar, I would consider drinking now.

Aromas of blackberry fruit with clove, allspice very deep fruit with great intensity. Sweet & Sour mouthfeel that has amazing length, fruit and tannins. Very youthful with many years to go. Great job JL Groulx winemaker!

Last bottle. Decanted off abundant fine and chunky sediment. Full ruby core with a bruised plum rim. Distinctive aged OL nose of dusty red plum and mulberry and quite pronounced bell pepper. Medium bodied, very dry, highish acidity and a respectable amount of extract. Flavours of dried red stone fruits and berries, bell pepper, bark and loam. Decently long finish that is a tad on the stern side. Overall a bit dried out and stalky tasting. Probably past its prime …

Juicy, blackberry, black currant, some oak, tannins are smooth enough for the age. Really like this. And still so good the next day

Bought on release and stored at 56 degrees. Pop and pour on night one. Classic and clean, with hints of graphite and cassis. Nose is a bit shy, but it is drinking very well. Very much in a claret style. Well-structured with good acidity and just a touch of screech on the tannins. I opened this with flank steak in a mood for a BDX and this scratched the itch nicely. Upon opening poured half into a 375, recorked and …

13.8% - Clear, med to deep garnet with a bricking hue / clean, med to pronounced intensity - blackcurrant, cedar, eucalyptus and slightly minty, old leather, dried flower bouquet / dry, med+ acidity, med to full body, med+ fine grained tannin, med intensity, med to long finish. Mature and most likely getting closer to the end of the drinking window. Great match with braised veal cheeks in a red wine & shallots reduction with sauteed mushrooms!

Deep ruby red with a hint of burnt orange at the rim. Lots of slow legs draped around the glass. Nose is classic, mature OL with dark mulberry, plum, boysenberry, grape stalk and spicy oak. Dry with lots of tight gritty tannins still unresolved. Dark dry berry fruits on the palate. More dusty mulberry and blue plum. Overall smooth, good length and good acidity, but the aggressive tannins really stand out and detract from the enjoyment at this point.

Quite dark plummy garnet with a slight fade and coloured change to more of a mahogany at the rim. Clearly showing its age. Lots of chunky sediment in the bottle, but very little smoke. Dust dried mulberries dominates the nose. Then comes iodine, spice, leather and pine mulch. Medium full bodied. The red fruit on the palate is nicely ripe and comes across as lush and sweet albeit it still retains a bit of tartness. Sandy tannins on the juicy …

I feel Osoyoos Larose are going backwards, deep ruby colour, good tannins yet the balance is not there and it feels like the fruit was not picked at the right moment? the oak integration is fine, but it just feels meuh, it's not bad it's just not good.

Medium garnet color. Sweet cassis fruit mixed with a bit of sawdust. Mature, true Merlot/Cabernet fruit that really impresses for this wine from Canada. There is a bit of raw, new oak on the finish that points to overly ambitious wine-making. Still, this is darn good - a bit of an up-side surprise. Not a value but worth the money and very interesting. (90)

@Homer. Drank on second day. Dark purple, full bodied. Red fruit, licorice, dusty, relatively high ABV Super youthful, less 'green' day two. Dry, some pencil lead, Thin, mossy, some bitterness, High QPR! For sure better day two, but it does not hit my taste preferences.

Middle aged look. Medium dark maroon with just the beginning of garnet at the edge. Robes the glass, decent legs. Medium light aromas of saddle leather, dusty mullberry (seemingly a marker for Osoyoos Larose), blue plum skins and bit of alcoholic heat on the nose. Good weight of sweet fruit on the palate, good acidity, maybe a bit high, and a dry finish that is still a bit tannic. Going with a 91 on this one.
