Good spot now. Fresh, yellow fruits, especially pineapple, a little bit of petrol. Acidity still very pronounced, but overall there's a good balance between fruit and acidity. The only problem with this bottle was his counterpart in the flight - a 2003 Hiedler Riesling Maximum from Kamptal which was at peak - an unfair duell with a clear winner - the Maximum from Hiedler! 35,- was a fair price - the actual auction price of 70,- showed here on CT …

Wow that is an acid and mineral bomb. Mineral, lime underripe apricot. Palate oozes acid, but is more giving in fruit. Long mineral finish

At home. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of clean slate minerality, delicate small white flowers, peachy fruits, pink guava. Agree with strong whiffs of lemon-lime soda also. Developing. On the palate, dry, precise tingling high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet pink guava, peach stone fruit, grapefruit, clean slate stones minerality. Tinges of cream. …

A little effervescent on first pour. Intensely perfumed with aromas of lemon-lime soda, petrol, white lilac, wet gravel. The palate confirms and though dry, is sweetly fruited. The citrus element on the palate is more sweetened white grapefruit rather than lemon or lime. Racy, tooth-squeaking acidity and a long finish.

Drank because the cork was wet. Was still surprisingly tasty. Had some of the qualities I remember from the 1990s bottle.

Wish I had done notes sooner, but it was an incredible expression of the Upper Mosel. Drinking well now but will be amazing for a while.

Nose ginger lime bitter orange palate has decent acid big time mineral. Glycerin texture. Grapefruit hints. If white wines do a dumb phase between youth and maturity this is it. Still great bones and structure.

A few bubbles in bottom of glass. Nose > Big, & expanding w/air. Creamy white peach, peach stone, spicy/fruity/herbal. Palate > Round white peach, hint of spice. Big, but supple, & balanced. Nectarine-skin & white peach on the finish. Med acidity, med intensity, med length. No heat showing. Lots of spice for a Ruwer. 12.5% ABV. (Blind GG tasting; guessed Nahe)

NOSE: sweet white peaches, mineral, hint of floral and herbal notes. PALATE: white peach, even hint of green peach note, herbs, mint, touch of cassis toward the back. very sleek and light up front, softer in the mid with orchard fruit taking over from the mineral. The back palate offers sweet pear and peach notes, leading to a zestier, herb (sage) and ginger moderate finish. There is a hint of warmth right on the finish but it does not detract …

This was a wine I was looking forward to - as I am quite fond of the 2015 vintage. It did not disappoint, the wine is thoroughly bright, with a deep mineral streak that speaks to its origins. While lighter than some, the wine shows white peach, pear and apple. I can see this aging into a classic MSR Riesling.

Tour VDP Große Lage -Start Berlin- Alternative: an Afternoon in Riesling-Heaven (Capital representative office of german telecom, Berlin) : This Weingut also brought a mature bottle of their GG, some petrol, lightbodied with a tasty stonefruit, very elegant, finesse, ending long+ with a still vivacious acidity, this bottle is very refined, ***(*+)

This was really good. Showing the serious promise of the 2015 vintage. Nice length on the palate.
