Another lovely, rich Pinot from Sean Capiaux that went wonderfully well with grilled lamb chops and the swearing in of a new Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

Another wonderful wine from Sean Capiaux - aromatic (my nose knows nothing right now with everything in bloom), rich (raspberry and some cherry) earthy, a bit of pencil, spice, mouth-coating and lovely finish.

Coravined over three nights. Bright red fruit, less dark raspberry than Pisoni estate. Love the freshness here. Cherry, red raspberry, chocolate, great acid and midpalate killer. Love it. Amazing QPR

Pretty ruby in color, tasted over one hour, mineral, earth and cinnamon spiced nose, very tart cherry, raspberry jam and strawberries. Drinking marvelously, not too old. likely in its prime!

Impressive structure and body with a smooth mouth feel. Medium acidity but the fruit structure was impeccable. Some bright cherry notes, but also touches of darker fruit. We tasted this side by side with a 14, 15, 16 vertical of Sea Smoke Ten and Southing. An impressive lineup and it scored well - in the top 2 for everyone.

Earth, tobacco, dried leaves. Potpourri, cherry/cranberry. Tannins have smoothed out. Bright red fruit. Really nice

All 2009's, in order of preference. None of the wines were past their prime. 1-Lucia Gary's-blue/purple fruits, big ripe rich but with enough acid to balance... but burgundophiles beware this is not for you. 2-capiaux Gary's-also good, but a touch of bitterness and less ripe fruit. 3-capiaux pisoni- a hint of Brett/barnyard which I suspect was a flaw which detracted from the fruit, but old worlders might have liked it.

Dark Syrah like, good concentration of dark fruits. Slightly bitter, oaky, wanting a touch more acidity. Drink soon.

Great bottle of Pinot. Very representative of SLH and Pisoni in general. Would buy again. Wonderful fruit, elegant, could use a few more years in bottle IMO

A medium-dark ruby color; somewhat opaque; slight yellowing on the rim. Other than the appearance, the wine is pretty much identical to my evaluation of last January: aromas of black cherry, blackberry, pinewood, touches of mint, herbs and spice. The flavors are similar, with the addition of some strawberry and plum. Smooth and velvety in the mouth. Big, rich, intense fruit and full bodied. Tannins are supple, but still slightly noticeable; a very slight acidic touch on the tongue from …

Classic nose of black cherry, sassafras and asian spice. Some cherry fruit, but surprisingly vegetal, and even a little brackish on the palate. Perhaps this one was cooked?

A deep, dark ruby color; almost opaque. Rim is still purple. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, pinewood, touches of mint, herbs and spice. The flavors are similar, with the addition of some strawberry and plum. Smooth and velvety in the mouth. Big, rich, intense fruit and full bodied. Tannins are supple, but still slightly noticeable; a very slight acidic touch on the tongue from the tannin. A medium finish that displays just a tad of heat, which seems to disappear …

deper colour vs an oregon pinot, but the the fruit, tannins and earth are all integrated better than your typical overblown cally pinot

- Medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish - Bright purple / cherry red in color. Earthy notes with black currant, raspberry and cherry on the nose. Black berry, currant and black cherry on the palate. Great balance with good acidity and slight smokey overtones. Long finish. Great wine.

Way too extracted for me. Had little resemblance to what I love about Pinot noir. Flavors of dark plum and some spice.
