Remoissenet Pere et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot

One of the best village Burgundy white wines we have tasted. Ironically, you often see people comparing New World wines with Burgundy but here I would compare this to a good vintage Rustenberg Five Soldiers. Lovely with chicken

I’ve consumed three of these in the last month or so and really like the style. The colour is rich light gold and there is considerable viscosity. The nose is powerful with citrus, honey, quince, vanilla and spicy oak. The palate is full bodied with complex fruit and oak. Acid is moderate befitting the vintage - the 2014 is considerably more minerally while the 15 is richer, riper and more fruity. I like the style of Remoissenet whites and this …
