Vinca Minor Carignan Old Vines Hawkeye Ranch

Might have had an off bottle, seemed to have a fair amount of va on opening that receded some with air and warming up a bit. Very fruit forward, loads of strawberry and melon rind, and something akin to the bite of spearmint without the same mint flavor. No perceptible tannins and spritzy acidity.

Popped and poured. Candied apple aroma. Tingly flavors of strawberry and watermelon. Mutable flavors of cherry, orange zest, and spearmint, among others in the complex, lingering finish. Rich, complex, slight sweetness, firm backbone. Impressive.

Surprisingly good. Somewhat carbonic and effervescent. Ripe strawberry and watermelon. Simple but full bodied and tasty.
