Broglia, Meirana, Gavi

Lots of bottle variation so far. Of six bottles consumed, this is the second one showing dark yellow color. And although the wine is ok, it's not as crisp as the three "good" bottles. I've had several vintages of this wine, and it's always been of consistent quality. Let's see how the others work out.

2021 vintage

My wife opened the first bottle at a lunch with her gym friends. Four of them polished off the bottle. I got home just in time to open a second bottle. Lucky for me I had another. This is really smooth. A pretty gold color that's easy drinking. I'll continue enjoy this mid afternoon, and with leftovers tonight. Pretty good juice for $15.

Honeydew, lemon-lime, chamomil, other flowers and just a touch of dirty earth on the finish. Intriguingly different and quite popular at the table.

Popped and poured with tilapia. Aroma has a lot of minerals, with a hint of lime. Taste has the lime much more at the forefront to combine with minerals. This is an enjoyable wine as a regular type drinker.

Light translucent greenish-gold with thinning at the edge, this wine has a really nice nose of lemon pudding, with undertones of parsley and cilantro, and a nice floral aspect on top. The palate has a nice acidic core, but with some delicate balancing sweetness. There is a nice minerality to it, as well. This is exquisite stuff....A great wine for $18-$20....beautiful nose with pear...wet stone..and apricot notes....the wine gives flavors of pear and light caramel with a crisp light acidity.....and great finish....oysters or a seared scallop would be a perfect food match...I bought a case of this...without hesitation

Whoa this is really nice. One of the best values I've ever had. This excelled with artichokes, bread dipped in XVOO and olives. It also paired well with salad. Buttery lemon nose and hints of something pickled or fermented. This is a truly fantastic wine for the $$$. I guess I LOVE whites that can age.

This was on sale for $9. i thought it might be tired and dead, but no. A light golden color, it was a slightly challenging wine to drink, but in a good way. This is an excellent food wine, especially with a medium to heavy pasta dish. It is medium weight with just a little bit of oak. Medium to light straw color. Good example of an "old world" white--not "over done." Medium-long finish.

Broglia is a family run 73 hectare farm of which 35 hectares are planted to Cortese vines. Cortese is the native grape of the region which is used to make Gavi. The estate was founded in 1972. The estate was renovated and new cellars werte built in 1982.
