Grey Sands Pinot Gris

Tasmanian Wine Tasting 2013 (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney) : Medium minus aromas of unripe melon, stone/mineral, slight herbs - almost thyme, creamy, yoghurty notes, slight toast (oak?). In the mouth, well for me, it's wrong. Why? There is no real fruit (a touch of unripe melon which does not carry), high alcohol levels, bitter. The texture is oily and rich. Alsace it ain't despite best efforts.
