Very fun. Lemon and stone fruit integrated with oak. Needs a bit of time to open up. Medium + mouthfeel and medium + acidity.

NobleRottersSydney - with Moncur Cellars (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney) : {screwcap, 13.5%} [Aaron] The 2012 had a darker grapefruit-tinged nose, with subtle oak and a lovely cashew/nut aspect. The palate is much more fleshy then the 2017, still furry in texture. The acid is softening out; it’s medium weight and with medium acid, softening out, fairly even on the palate, and medium-bodied. About at peak, and pretty good value.

Medium green-silver gold. Nose is orange melon, ripe peach and fragrant frangipani with something else like warm new tennis balls. Palate is zesty, weighty, acidic but somehow still cloying because of the dollops of butter, very prominent alcohol, oily mouthfeel and unintegrated oak....lots of it. No great length or resonance. Very young but showing little promise of elegance. Very ‘old school’ in style unlike, say, its near-neighbour, Hay Shed Block 2 Chardonnay from the same vintage.

Way out west (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Stone fruit over citrus butter and oak. Softly spiced on the palate; though my mouth is watering it stills feels a little flabby. Not sure that that is about. Hmm. Nose is more promising than palate.
