Algueira, Ribeira Sacra, Cortezada Blanco

Journey though Catalunya at restaurant Cinc Sentits (Barcelona, Spain) : Bright yellow in the glass, white flowers and bright citrus on the nose. Elegant and well made, with balanced acidity and Burgundian-like character. Wonderful pairing with a delicate white meat fish.

Had this blind and picked is as a Spanish Albarino (it has that lifted perfumed aroma that good Albarino has) but it is actually a blend of Godello, Albari�o, and Treixadura. Interesting. Disconcertingly, there was a lot of spritz when poured - to the point of bubbling in the glass - and not that delicate fine line of elegant bubbles you find in champagne - this was wild and random! Given a few minute, it did settle down somewhat, thankfully. …
