Louis Billard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots

Same bottle as nutty08. This pours a pale purple in the glass. It’s fairly muted on the nose (relative to its peers at the table). But yes there is an explosive, mouth coating palate presence of red to blue fruit with lots of Vosne spice. I thought it showed marvelously, not at all backward, and certainly enjoyable in its youth, with fine grained tannins and a little sucrosity on the finish. It’s my first 23, but if this is any …

Just fantastic. Nose is fine, mix of blue and red fruits mild spice notes. But this just EXPLODES on the palate. Reds and blues and amazing spice notes that I've hardly every found in a young pinot. Terrific depth and balance. Finish is penetrating and lingering, adding spice and mineral notes. Fine tannic spine keep everything together. Seems like there's some nuanced whole cluster here. Wow! Need to find more from this producer.
