Popped and poured. This was a very expressive wine, with lots of cassis and other goodies on the nose. The palate was also fruit forward, with dark fruits, lots of tannins, refined, yet powerful. Reminded me of an excellent Syrah from southern Rhone. Very good!

Apparently 80% teran and 20% refosk, though I thought teran was the southern name for refosco. 8 days skin contact and then aged for 36 months in oak. A big nose with lots of black fruits and a nice perfume. Impressive (though with a price of £36, it jolly well should be). Very integrated, enjoyable palate.

13.4% alc. Teran grape. Served warm. Plummy, leathery, light spice, would feel fresher at right temperature. Palate is sapid, mid bodied, fruit - plums and prunes, attractive, mid length, palate gravitates to frontal modern style. Nicely evolved and has a few more years to go. VG. Wine tasting at One, Porto Montenegro. 39 euros retail.
