Had a flight of Chassagne Montrachet of 15 different wine across different vintages and wine maker. Interesting to note that for a group of 8 people, most couldn’t have guess the wine maker, all rather most got it wrong. The WOTN or favorite are quite similar representing the quality of the wine maker. New Release Burgundy Tasting (Chicago.wine - Glenview IL) : Ripe fruit but this is very firm and backward, giving it an awkward character for now.

Started out lean and tart, but quickly gained weight with air. Once it's had time to breathe, I found this wine to be a bit ripe, but with a lot of acid. For whatever reason, the two components (ripe vs. elevated acid) felt very disjointed here and not very harmonious. Just ok and a bit boring. EDIT: Day 2, the acid and ripeness are more integrated, and the wine is more enjoyable. Still sort of a generic red burg though.

Ripe 2018 on the nose with currant, plum, and cola. Medium bodied, fleshy, with juicy, ripe red fruit on the palate.

As advertised, very ripe and “2018” in style. Don’t hate it just a little fruit forward and powerful when normally I think this bottling is elegant

Du coravin, Premiere fois avec le producteur, et en rouge ce ne fut pas concluant… Fruité rouge et bleu, tres primaire, minéral, creux en millieu de bouche, finale moyenne mais encore une fois creuse… Certes le vin est trop jeune, mais le tout ne m’a pas impressionné. Pour le prix, on trouve mieux…. Le deuxieme jour, Ça s’ouvre! Plus de framboises, finale plus longue et moins de creux en millieu de bouche. Ça manque toutefois de complexité et de pinotage …

From Coravin. Jubey, pretty, cherry and berry, sweet spice, a little polished oak underpin, touches of toast, very slight alcohol prickle on the nose as well. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity, similar fruit flavours have that jubey quality, that alcohol note is present but not intrusive. Still very primary fruit driven but no shame in that - very nice.

med/dk red in colour, good acidity, jammy dark fruit flavours, tannins linger and leaves a dryness on the palate with the first glass of wine. A very fruit forward pleasant pinot. This opens up after about an hour in the bottle and the fruit dominates. This will age well. A great village Chassange.
