Bei Kilian Toller Blaufränkisch mit ordentlich Säure. Überraschende Struktur aus Württemberg - sollte man probieren

in Südlage auf Mergel gewachsen, 12,5% Alk., karaffiert. In der Nase eine tiefe aber etwas diffuse Frucht, Szechuanpfeffer und Lavendel, tiefe Gewürznoten. Am Gaumen ähnlich, dabei recht warme Frucht und ein bisschen marmeladig. Im Vergleich zu großen Blaufränkisch aus dem Burgenland weniger Struktur und mildere Säure. Eher in 5 als in 10 Jahren trinken.

Still too young

Very extracted, comfit type of fruit showing dark berries, a bit of Williams but also floral, perfumed characteristics as well as tobacco in the background. Green bell pepper, vegetal notes as well after a while. Mostly balanced palate although I couldn't shake off the suspicion of slightly green tannin and there were definitely bitter notes.

Tasting with trepidation - Württemberger Winzer (Around Stuttgart) : Spiced black fruit on the powerful and rich nose. Tangy stewed plum and liquorice palate with chewy tannic structure and bright acidity keeping this fresh. Warm nutmeg and cigar smoke finish. A little young, should be excellent in 10yrs

Nose is really spicy and savoury with aromas of plum sauce and soy. Palate has a waxy note to it. Good wine with interest.

VDP. Grosses Gewachs Tasting (Army and Navy Club, London) : The wine shows ripe red fruit core, capsicum, cherries and currants, light oaky notes. The wine shows the same profile in the palate, 13%, very fresh, high acidity, harsh tannins, aggressive but disappearing instantly !!
