Pazos de Lusco Albariño Rías Baixas Lícia

Old tasting note. Fresh and mineral. Pear and white flowers.

Nice overall with floral, minerals and a touch of sweetness. Good acidity and an enjoyable wine with or without food.

Very good value. Yellow color, light body. Burst of lime citrus followed by green apple and rounded out with just a touch of floral notes.

Another very nice Albarino with lemony aromas that are slightly bitter. Rounder lemon, tangerine and pear flavors. I found the finish a bit abrupt.

Served by the glass at Vinalia (CR) but too much cold to appreciate its qualities. Anyway, after the third glass the initial lemony nose was followed by a hay sensation on the palate, greasy and pleasant. Overall a simple example of an Albariño wine. 87-88 Very open nose with citrus and whiffs of white pepper. The palate is crisp and sharp with citrus, spice, piercing freshness and for me, not over the top acidity. Good refreshing everyday white.

The nose is light, but some faint pears and limes show through. The pears are full and ripe on the palate however, and good lime flavors work well with the pears. The limes persist and the acidity slowly dries out the palate. This is a nice touch, and it makes me reach for another sip. 88+
