Haven’t had one like this in a while. To me this is quite well balanced, not overly sharp as some of these can be. The funk is prevelent but well integrated, though a bit too much for J, I enjoyed it very much. A bit vinous in texture. Would be interested to try it again in 5 years

Quarantine; 3/12/2020-5/29/2020 (Chicago, IL) : From half-bottle. Bottled September 1, 2015. This seems to have gotten a little more vinous than when I last had it. There's a bit more of an acid kick and a slightly sappy quality to the acidity. A touch funky as well, but amply enjoyable nonetheless.

From half-bottle. Bottled September 1, 2015. Next to the 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze, this actually feels a lot more natty, though it's definitely not one of those flawed biology experiments. Slightly more hoppy, with less of a fruit-forward complexion than the 3 Fonteinen and more bitter as well on the finish. Nonetheless, there is still a lot of delicious material here, and this seems to have a slight bit more mineral cut.

From half-bottle. Bottled September 1, 2015. Slightly hoppy nose with some classic lambic funkiness. Mildly yeasty with a hint of hops and some slight stone fruit. The palate is very complex, with a good dose of acidity, some yeasty notes again, and a hint of peach. Way too easy to drink.
