Similar to my prior four tasting notes on this wine. A solid Nebbiolo and ready to drink now

Light color with orange rim. Cherry cola taste with some leathery molasses on nose. Tannins resolved but may have a few peak years left. Good QPR but Wine-Searcher shows this vintage is sold out in US. Too bad because only one more in my cellar .

Need to give it 2 hours of air time to really show its stuff.

Light-medium bodied, translucent brown/orange. Dried roses, cherry, subtle notes of old world funk and earthiness. Strong dusty tannins. Really enjoyable.

Dried roses and cherries with a bit of dusty tar. Smooth. Drank a glass from Coravin. Will drink remainder this week with pork or chicken. Definitely in the window.

Classic Nebbiolo aromas and flavors without the harsh and astringent tannin. Soft, smooth, easy drinking, especially after a 1 hour decant. Paired great with lasagna.

Beautiful red berry aromas with hints of purple flowers, dried herbs and smoke. Dried cherry flavors accented by cinnamon and herbs. Bright garnet color and extremely soft tannins. Quite elegant!

Beautiful ruby, light color. Nose is pleasant but not as expressive as expected. Palate is good but not at the same level of the bottle we had 18 months ago. We vacusealed and put the last 3rd in the fridge. 30 hours later it still hadn’t improved, and overall was quite closed. Missing the secondary and tertiary notes of the previous bottle. Here’s hoping the 3rd and last bottle shows better.

Very similar to my tasting note back in May. This is already open for business. Soft and approachable.

An underrated wine by the Pro Reviewers. This is delicious and elegant in the same right. Almost Burgundy in style. Very balanced and harmonious. Drinking well now. Decanted for 1 hr.

Still young but drinking nicely. Beautiful, light orange cranberry color. Highly fragrant nose has bright cherries, rose, ripe banana peel, strawberry, leather, slight smoke. Flavors are very dry with abundant, yet balanced acid. Really nice structure. Palate has dry rose petal, bitter dark chocolate, cranberries riding atop smooth, powdery tannins. Medium finish. Delicious on its own but different dimensions appear with food or a little chocolate. Upon opening I definitely get the burgundy comparisons. The wine is tightly wound and …

Rose petal, subdued tobacco notes, and softness from the Slavonian oak and French barriques. Great structure from the tannins, drinks beautifully and will likely improve with another 5 years (but why wait). Stunning, one of my favorite Barbarescos in a while. Cellar storage conditions: 8/10

If drinking now, must drink with food. However, with food and after a 1 hour decant, this is a lovely wine. While still tannic, it has all the right pieces in all the right places. If it were not for the tannin, it is almost Burgundian in style. I very much enjoyed it.

(Decanter Fine Wine 2017) :: N: complex broad profile. Beautiful notes of sweet pink rose petals, violets. P: massive tannin and structure; well defined and balanced. Wait 5-10 years.
