Nase: Honig(Melone), reife Pampelmuse. Mund: Säure noch sehr präsent. Wie 2016 ist die Süße erst im Abgang deutlich erkennbar. Die Spritzigkeit leidet etwas unter der Reife oder dem warmen Jahrgang

Riesling Rampage : Pineapple, apple, pear, and lemon, with notes of peach and smoke. Lively acidity with excellent life and energy. Really like the profile with the mix of sweet fruit and acid lift. Cracking wine tonight.

Fluro green yellow. Delicious engine sump oil on a garage floor with dust, green pear, green apple, touch apricot, butter and honey sauteed in a pan. Green apple and lime on the palate with lovely balance, roundness builds with lactic butter, then acidity comes in and freshens it up, subtle tangy lime cordial, slightly bitter lime zest. Complex, evolving, incredibly well balanced. Classic MSR!

From the cellar of Hugh Johnson at Saling Hall that was auctioned earlier this year at Sworders. AP 3 07. Very lively, youthful appearance; discreet nose, subtle, fruit of peach, ripe lemon and bitter orange, herbs, hints of wax, smoky slate and flowers; the palate is quite ripe (as is to be expected from a 2006) but there is nice balancing acidity, although the flavours are relatively light with a mature waxiness and fruit of apple and peach; adequate length. …

The 2011 Egon Müller/Le Gallais Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese is light, bright yellow in colour with a nose of lime, lemon, fresh red apples and underlying kerosene. Very concentrated and medium-intensity in the nose. On the palate, an initial entry of sugary sweetness of fresh red apples, lemon with broad mouth-coating texture. Good acidity coming up towards the end which makes the wine very palate cleansing particularly after a heavy meal. Good balance and structure. Definitely able to last …

A not so simple night (Jade Seafood At forum) : Beautiful scents of white florals, chamomile tea, organic white tea, lychees, pineapples and dash of sour plum powder. Delicious drinking with balance and coming somewhere in between a spat and auslese. There is ripeness yet enough acidity to make it a rounded throat sliding drink. Flawless and excellent example of a german riesling.

Weekday treat at Jade Palace (Jade Palace, Forum Galleria) : Lovely example. All the ripeness of the 2006 vintage, nicely tempered by Egon Muller's classic balance and cut. Lovely nose, fleeting petrol droplets, white flowers, poutpourri, pineapple, orange and, with time in the decanter, some honeysuckle and nectar notes. Superb balance on the palate, fresh, incredibly integrated, so that the wine slid down the mouth in a complete whole, with nuances of minerality, pineapples, apples, starfruit, honey sea-coconut, lychee, more …
