Not bad for 2011. Very smooth. Was expecting a bigger and more fruit forward wine. Arkenstone offers a better value. Day 3 - developed into a much better wine. 92-93

Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry, black cherry, black plum, currant, licorice and spice. Black fruit, licorice, graphite, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Finishes with good length. Full bodied. Served with wood fired Berkshire pork chops.

Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, currant, chocolate and spice. Blackberry, blueberry, currant, spice and ripe tannins on the palate. Leads to a medium to long finish. Medium to full bodied. Served with grilled cheeseburgers.

Enjoyed this. Not especially complex which I dinged it for on points, but loved the fresh blue and black fruits. Very smooth, if not a little thin, not what I was expecting for a young Carter. Will need to drink another bottle and take better notes.
