The Islander Estate Vineyards Malbec Majestic Plough

This seems a bigger, more dense and richer version than the previous 2014 I have tried. It’s beautifully crafted. Loads of dark plums and some red fruits, but nothing overripe. Savoury to its core. Dried spices; garam masala, cloves, nutmeg. Some mint. Ripping, rippling waves of tannins crash through the mouth; a real highlight. A veneer of vanilla oak completes the picture. Silky smooth texture. An excellent wine that deserves time in the cellar. It has decades ahead of it.
