Collina Del Sole Ripasso della Valpolicella Superiore

Bought on the trip home from Tenerife - a purchase that was not very successful - we did not like the wine! A strange sharp taste - hopefully only in this particular bottle

Intense and a touch raisiny dark cherry fruit on the nose with clove, liquorice and a trace of toffee. Fullbodied and supple palate with decent balance. Ripe fruit and spicy touches. Mid-length chewy finish. Not a bad Ripasso. But totally skippable as a wine.

Dark fruit and some spices on the nose. Medium bodied, rather smooth,delivering ripe dark fruit with discreet flavors of liquorice and light spices. Firm ,gentle tannins and good acidity. Perhaps a little monolithic, otherwise a decent quaffer.
