Château Au Grand Paris Supérieur

I bought this in March 2008 and have been storing it hoping it will be awesome. Unfortunately, no. As others have said, it's past it's best days (if there was any). Although it only cost me $10, so it wasn't a big investment. Thin on the nose and palate. Balanced, but not much there.

bought a variety of low priced 05 Bordeaux based on strength of vintage for everyday drinking. This one was passed over, shame, its best days have passed. drink up if you have any.

Nose: light cherries and strawberry. A touch of green moss. On the palate: No pronounced tannins. Actually tannins are very well integrated, but the wine could use just a little more as it lacks some life. However, nice well balanced with an improved bouqueue after 1 1/2 hours. Some slight caramel notes.

My last bottle of this. This was a cheap 'drink now' wine from the stellar 2005 vintage, and is past it's prime, but still drinkable. It's taking on a sour, more astringent character. Still think this is a good "cheap" Bordeaux, but this bottle was not as good as previous ones. 2nd day was disappointing. Could be a flawed bottle.

Smell: cherries, blueberries, cream. Taste: sour cherries, strawberries, blueberries, slight bit of well integrated oak. Tannins on finish are a tad bitter, but a decent and enjoyable finish. Nice balance, good acid, generous but not over the top fruit. Good with food. Outstanding value. 88 points.

Tasting notes as before, except the wine seemed simpler and more humbler 2nd time around.

traditional bordeaux with sour cherry, charcoal, a bit dry, great lasting finish is the strenght. A bit green and earthy for me. ok wine is better then others at this price point.

Dark ripe cherries and plums are immediately answered by moderate and balancing acidity. The midpalate gets very interesting with some earthy and spicy notes-most notably black pepper. As advertised, very good QPR. Easy to drink. Very simple.

Nose of strawberries, cherries, and a hint of peat moss. Very fruity, with a long sour cherry finish. Great QPR
