By the glass at Ginza Katsukami. Great pairing with several Tonkatsu courses. Champagne is quite elegant, with minimal dosage. Dry but not too austere. Enough acidity and minerality. Personally, a touch more acidity would have been welcome - but this was enjoyable and very food friendly nonetheless.

Medium nose intensity with notes of lemon, grapefruit, toast.

Pinot Noir Based Champagne (K&L Wines, San Francisco) : Medium yellow. Frothy. Autolytic. Lighter, lively impression with an elegant feel. A bit of oak. Flowing dark fruit, very dry but not austere. Slightly tart finish that should soften over time. I really liked this.

BTG. Toasty red and yellow fruits, not much substance. 90

Russian gold. Boisterous mousse. Crisp, ripe, red fruit, red or green (?) apple, mineral (Jurassic Kimmeridgian soil) 'upright', tangy - yet sweet (naturally), fresh, acidity and tannins dance tango in my mouth. Brut Nature Selection, 100% PN, no dosage - only natural RS less than 2g per bottle. Minimum Sulphur. My bottle DG 12/24

Eye: Very pale salmon. Short lived mousse, rapid small bubbles. Nose: Red fruits, toast. Some strawberry, watermelon, and spice. Lots of ripe sweet fruit on the nose. Palate: Very well balanced. A ripple of fruity sweetness despite the lack of dosage. Candied red fruits. Nicely dry and chalky. Lemon, green apple. Finish: Medium length. Once again dry and chalky. Lots of green apple and lemon. A touch of ripe red fruits and baking spice.

Lots of toast and brioche on the nose. Crisp and super dry. Delicious. Above average in quality. Above average in quality at $70.

DG ??/20?? Cork exploded out of the bottle despite being at an appropriate temperature. Nose is a little shy, slightly funky and spicy nose, toasted brioche with a little fresh butter and strawberry jam. Palate is bright and lemony with more strawberry, cinnamon, grippy, mouth-watering, very long. Good but a little simple; “yum” but not “wow”.

Enjoyed this a lot. Very slight pink tinge in the color. Light while still balanced.

Ridge Event (Los Mochis, London) : 100% Pinot at Zero Dosage but we could not locate where the disgorgement date was! Soft copper pink tint, bright , soft apple feel, well made and quite an elegant wine. Works very well and a solid one. 90-91

100 % Pinot Noir, aged on the lees for 36 months On the label it says that the date of disgorgement is engraved on each bottle. Unfortunately, I can't find that. Very good value champagne. Tons of acidity, crisp citrus, a twist of saline. Persistent bubbles.

Just the faintest bit tart on the finish, a no dosage Champagne that could have used some dosage. Better with food, cheese and crackers.

The wine is of outstanding quality. The autolytic character is medium+ to pronounced. 100% Pinot Noir, 36 months on lees. The wine is suitable for drinking now.

Unoffensive and pleasant, good QPR. A more than decent gateway champagne

Moderate golden in the glass. Nose is very bready, but is integrated well with fresh fruit notes in forms of green apple, peach, nectarine. Medium-bodied, some nice layers to it, but short finish. Ok.

Slightly oxidative and nutty Quite integral and vinous Enjoyable as a wine

In tip-top condition. Rounded, debonair, expressive.

A private tasting and dinner at a friend's (London, UK) : Copper colour, pin-prick bubbles; evolved, even slightly oxidative style on the nose, with a touch of candied red berry fruit, mineral freshness, a spicy note and a touch of floral lift; vinous, full-bodied palate, relatively low acidity, gentle but lively mousse, light flavours, ripe style with noticeable bitters; light finish, good length. The warm vintage has left its marks, drink soon.

Champagne - 100 Vintage and NV Champagne; 12/15/2015-12/15/2020 : Nose of strawberry intermixed with tea leafes, red current, flowers. This bottle was a whiff oxidative. Perlage on the bubbly side but with a sappy, pinoesque finish.

Toronto Wine Cru - WineSpectator Off-Line Event - Champagne OL (La Palette (French Bistro)) : Nose - None at all, initially. Palate - very young and fresh. A clear pinot taste. A tad more interest than the NV Bruno Paillard tasted along side it.

Drunk with thierrynz. Similar notes. Colour light red with a hint of brown. Pinot noir-driven bouquet, red berry aromas but also secondary-seeming aromas of autumn leaves, tobacco and spices. Rich with complex and layered flavours, bringing to mind red Burgundy. Sufficient, vibrant acidity. A food wine, accompanied escargot, duck and cheese courses well. However, not for all palates. Not a typical or classical Rose Champagne. I will cellar for 5+ years to see if secondary (tertiary?) aged Burgundy-like flavours emerge. …

Early notes on this (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91380) suggested an intriguing wine which could work well with food. I failed to recognise the wine not because it was so different from when first tasted but because I just could not remember. The appearance of this is dark rosé veering toward hints of orange and brown. Bouquet suggested rich red fruit and decayed leaves and oxidative notes. The palate has weight and quite of bit of dosage. It did work well with food though. …

Like a rye bread concentrate! After half an hour in the glass in gets more herbal, but the rye bread for good or bad is overwhelming.

Visit to Champagne Drappier in Urville (Urville) : Nose: Wild strawberries, slightly developed Pinot Noir notes, baked apples, discrete flowery notes. Palate: Strawberries including wild strawberries, apple, some sweetness of fruit in the attack, mineral on the mid-palate, fresh aftertaste. Summary: Rather young, but approachable now, 90 p. This rosé felt a bit more developed than the white 2005 Grande Sendrée.
