The primary fruit has faded here. I was never a fan of the 2009 vintage. i found far too many of them to be flabby and didn't have enough acid backbone. This was no different. This came across as tired and over the hill.

2009 vintage

Still drinking well but not sure it will improve with time. Came back to a glass poured hours earlier and didn’t like what the air had done to it. Otherwise, this wine drank like an elegant burgundy. I enjoyed it a lot.

As always, a tremendous wine, sourced from one of my favorite terroirs in the Willamette Valley. True to place, wonderful purity, well delineated yet supple frame, compelling finish. Going strong, with no sign of peaking. 93-94.

Still young, still beautiful. Distinctive terroir, lovely varietal character, including compelling textures and overall balance. High QPR!

Served double blind right after the 2012 and I was like "did someone just put EW back in my glass?" And indeed they did just the 2013. Tobacco leaf, more fruit than the 2012 but some peat moss and forest floor with great acids.

Probably the standout of a New and Old World Pinot Noir tasting. A wine of the ever-loving-earth, it delivers power, elegance, and depth. Wonderfully structured, deft balance. Far from maturity. 93-94.

Had next to the 08 Le Puits Sec and was almost youthful in comparison. Plenty of field and wild berries with fruit crunchy forest floor, baking spices and finesse on the palate. Plenty of life and the peak still ahead for this wine.

Quite good. Elegant and very burgundian in taste and smell.

2013 vintage

Spectacular! What a unique terroir! More restrained than the 2014 vintage, yet sophisticated. Let it breathe for several hours. It would be interesting to taste this vintage alongside another, to understand the sense of place the vineyard imparts. It should last for 15 to 20 years.

Peppery pinot, perfectly paired with pork. Wonderful red berry, black pepper, dark caramel flavors. Definitely tastes like Oregon. Drinking beautifully right now.

This is skating that line between young fresh fruit flavors and some rich, caramel flavors that is just so good right now. I really, really like where this is at now but wouldn't hesitate to age it either.
