Chatham. Sweetness diminishing over time but still a pretty heavy wine. Jerry and others liked it a lot.

Golden straw with moderate legs. Nose of white stone fruit and grapefruit. Flavors in the attack are similar with lemon and tangerine. Acidity, of course, with a full, mouthfeel. Outstanding QPR and drinking very, very well.

I really like the peachy herbal nose but the palate , while sweet and tasty doesn’t have the acid balance to give it real depth.

Highly expressive nose of peach and even pineapple, along with some minty herbal notes. The palate is forward and fruity, sweet and fruit with orange/tangerine and bracing acidity core. High tension between the fruit and acid here. Drinking wonderfully at the moment, just at the front of its prime drinking window I'd say.

Very sweet. Heavy for my taste. Glenna and friends liked it a lot. Will probably leave the rest to them though this could possibly get very good if given enough time.

Much fuller and more giving than the '02 Spätlese Goldkapsel. This was full of tropical fruit and tang. Very nice, but still time to go before notes of bottle age start.

Quite sweet, good balancing acidity. Some viscosity. Excellent depth but not much complexity. Heavier than I would favor. Glenna loved it and I bought more for her at a good price, and will save a couple for a few years hence to see if more is revealed after the baby fat is gone.

I am sorry not to be more diplomatic and reserved, but this wine is awesome. The first thing that hits your palate is the amazing sweetness. You think it is just too much but then the acidty rips through and leave your tongue dancing. The first way i thought to describe it was like a lemon drop - an actual tart lemon coated with sugar. But that leaves out about 50 percent of the experience. Wonderful mouth feel, with a …

Another excellent bottle of this wine. This wine will probably get even better with some age, but it's hard to resist opening them now.

Southern Season Riesling Tasting (Chapel Hill) : Lemons and limes on the nose with some herbs floating overtop, but this may be beginning to shut down, as the aromas closed in after a while in the glass. The palate is round and decadent with plenty of sweetness and enough acid to keep it poised (a good word here, I agree), so that it neither tends towards flabbiness nor raciness. The finish is long and reprises a wash of fruits and …

Complex and balanced. Tons of lime and gravel on the nose. Great finish. Profound, but simultaneously just a fun, delicious riesling. Apparently this has 90 grams r.s., but I never would have guessed it because it.has such perfect balance.

Light nose with lemongrass and bay. Soft body, a bit thin. Nice lemon bite with good sweetness, but overall effect is mostly lemonade with a touch of spice. Enjoyable with a chicken stir-fry with sweet-sour sauce.
