Can understand the short drinking window as this feels a bit tired and lacking of fruit concentration. Nothing offensive, just some dark plums and subtle blue-black fruits in a soft package, fair amount of smokey asphalt on the nose leads to a bit of funk on the short finish.

Spicy red fruit on the nose. A little smokey, a little light on the palate. Tastes like a high yield carignane vineyard. No oak. I am being told its easy to drink and I don't think that is quite the case.

Tasted at Berman's. Wine blended to Kravits' specs. Similar to a cotes du rhone in make up, more subded in style. I bought a case at the tasting price at 8.99 per bottle.

Wow, this is the best <$10 wine I've had in a while. Good concentration and verve, with flavors of plum and berries and a smoky, meaty element that is beyond its class.
