Dark ruby hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, bell pepper, leather. Plus body, acid, tannins. Palate adds more black cherry. Finish feels a little hot, suggesting that decanting is useful. Otherwise, an outstanding New World red of notable provenance. Multi-vintage cuvee of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remainder Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, and the occasional dash of Malbec.

Blend of 2016/2017. Pnp. Drinking well and open for business with mild tannins. Black fruit and oak are front and center. A slight forest floor component on the finish...keeping it interesting. However, the acid level could be slightly higher for my liking. A good wine that I enjoyed, but maybe for $50 instead of $150. There are many wines in Bordeaux that can be had for $30-$40 that'll rival or best this. Drink now-2031. 91 points.

cheers - Thanksgiving 2025....I'm guessing this was bottled in 2010-2012; was a gift from my neighbor. True to form, big CA Cab, although more balanced and rounded than what I've had before from CA. Full disclosure, I prefer old world reds by far for their more subtle flavors. With that said, this is a very good wine.

(17/20) This is nice! Bit polished, okay, but so much power and depth, so accessible and almost easy drinking (even though this is a complex wine). Non-vintage second wine of Opus One. Blend of 2018 and 2019, 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 18 months in new French oak. Medium+ intense aromas of violet, blackcurrant, blackberry, black plum, green bell pepper, liquorice, bay leaf, vanilla, coffee, leather, tobacco. Dry wine, medium+ acidity, …

The cork was bad, so had to strain, it was ok expected more for $150 bottle of wine

I agree with the review, this is definitely ready, lighter than I expected, a bit disappointing

Completely agree with recent notes. I see no benefit of continuing to age this. Lack of structure and acid makes it a bit flabby. Not all that impressive for the price

The only thing not to like is the price. Is it fair, the $164.80 I spent on this bottle? I dunno. Tell you what, if you're pretty sure it's worth it, you buy the next bottle and we'll have a good discussion as we consume it. Cheers!

About one hour double decanted. The wine is full body, inky deep red, nice and pure nose, good palate, good presence of oak without being distracting, fair complexity and decent finish. 92+ Drink or hold.

Comprised of the 2017/2018 vintage (QR code on the back gave us some insight). The nose was rather pleasant but the palate was wildly underwhelming. It improved marginally with 2-3 hours of air but even then, there wasn't much evolution over that time. No flaws or defects noted, just not what we would expect from a producer like Opus One (even as a NV, second wine). For the price point, its not even close to where it should be. I …

1995 release - Glossy with lots of ripe black currant and lots of vanilla oak. Not really my style but it is holding up remarkably well.

ok, but not great. Just to be clear, this wine was not flawed or corked in any way. Terrible QPR. Real bordeauxs can be had for 1/3 of the price or less. In all sincerity, I've had trader joe wines that were better. Will never purchase again -- so disappointing.

Frankly I was a little disappointed that this bottle was not as complex as I had anticipated. It was good but I guess I was expecting a little more.

Clear deep ruby/purple; clean medium nose of blueberries, blackberries, fall cracked leaves and tar; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is fruit forward with lots of cocoa; long finish; delicious but not a serious wine; drink now

Dark crimson color with slight bricking. Nose of dark cherry and chocolate, spice and cigar box. Similar palate with slight secondary stewed fruit with velvety tannins. Nice wine.

Tobacco leaf, cedar, and rum raisin aromas. Burnt Sienna color, with nice full set of tannins after 2 hour decant. Flavors of blackberry, fennel, and sage with a nice long finish of espresso and a touch of pepper. We believe this is the 2016-2017 blend. Gift from Alex 4 years earlier.
