Final of 6 bottles, enjoyed my last one about 3 yrs ago. Paired today with grilled ribeye steaks and baked potatoes. Firing on all cylinders, this is a beautiful Napa Cab / Bordeaux blend. Cassis, black cherry, creosote, and espresso grounds. The tannins are loosened up, lending to structure and supported by perfectly moderated acidity. Drink this pretty wine over the next few years, near peak and just lovely.

Cloudy bright brilliant ruby color. Dark ripe raspberries and pomegranate on the nose. Rich ripe raspberries and a touch of coffee and mulberries. It has a numbers of years left.

Day 1: Cassis, earth, tobacco, floral, blue currants and mild oak. Very nice Bordeaux blend. 93 points Day 2: Better and should age a while these great Eloge wines. Tobacco, dark cherry, blueberries, earth, wood, dust, dried flowers and gravel. 94 points Recommendation: One of the better Napa Bordeaux Blends under $100. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Merlot Wine Disruptors Wine Recommended.

Notes of blackberry, cassis, and oak, with a finish of earth, with some graphite notes. While still fruit forward, some tertiary notes are starting to poke through. This still has some tannic grip on the finish and I expect this can go for 10-15 more years. New world style. 14.6% ABV. Bordeaux-style blend of 55% Cab Sauvignon; 25% Cab Franc; 10% Petit Verdot; 10% Merlot.

Very nicely knit together now. I would say it’s probably not gong to get any better, but very enjoyable.

Almost 10 years since I tried this vintage, this Left Bank style blend is ready to drink with a short decant. Cassis, red and purple fruit, plum, tobaco leaf, cedar. Full bodied and sweet but not cloying. 14.8% abv.

Pop and pour, this was clearly denser and fruitier than the two Bordeaux. Plummy, rich fruit and earth. Slightly liqueurish. I found it more satisfying but less interesting than the two Bordeaux.

Smooth and elegant, with soft but sufficient fruit, mellow tannins, and long finish. Notes of cherry, violet, darker fruits.

Last tasted 2+ yrs ago. Delicious and regal Napa Cab, at a beautiful place in it's evolution. Black currant, cassis, pencil lead, wet soil, and a hint of mint. The tannins are still present but nicely rounded over time. There is ample acidity and a long and regal finish. Drink through 2026+.

Surprisingly fresh - light and lively for a Napa Bordeaux blend of this age. Integrated, not over powering, good with food. Tastes like it has life ahead, but depending on how you like your style, this is a candidate for near-term consumption. CT note through 2027 seems on. The group gave a slight preference to a '99 Ch. Spleen (bottle was on point).

Pop and pour, this is a delightful Napa-flavored bordeaux blend that has great structure. There is still a ton of fruit in it. This bottle makes me wonder how this will taste in 5 or 10 years.

Eleven years in the cellar followed by a 3 hour decant. Floral boquet of cherries and violets with ample amounts of dark fruit, hints of oak and mulling spices. The palate is velvety, displaying black cherry and plum, hints of spice, bark, earth, pencil, toasted oak and mountain wild berry fruits.

The Wife says "absolutely awesome". I have not had one of these in 4 years. It got better in the bottle. We let it sit in the glass (between sips) and it got better by the glass. Excellent. It was my last bottle of the 2008. I will check out the tasting notes of later vintages and buy some more.

Bring a Nice Bottle (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN) : Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass over about an hour. CS55, CF25 M10 PV10. Last drank this almost three years ago and it showed well at that point. Things have kicked up a notch since then with better overall integration. This has a sweet nose of cassis and creme de cassis, great damp earthiness and a hint of funk, pencil, lovely wood tones and mountain wild berry fruits throughout. …

Luis' Group (Kenwood) : Basically pop and pour. I loved the structure here, and the lively palate. This drinks like a bordeaux blend with a little bit of Napa sunshine. Not heavy or spoofy. This was very close to a 93, stylistically it has that score in spades, but qualitatively I can't go there, yet.

Luis back on the Saddle @ The Kenwood : Not sure about treatment of this wine...received at least 1 hour of slo O'd in bottle - This wine is a nice CA blend...nose is perfumed (violets), with plenty of red, black and purple fruit, some spice and hints of wood. The palate is similar, showing red currant, dark cherry and plum components with hints of spice, bark, chocolate and sweet, toasted oak. A very nice wine that is drinking quite …

On night one either on PnP or poured through an aerator, this has an initial fruit forward attack that is followed by not much of anything. Much better on night two without air. Fruit is more layered with definite Cab Franc infuence.

Drinking much better than previous bottle a couple of years ago this hit its peak in hour 2-3. Dark cherry, plum, licorice and leather with the full bodied Cabernet standing out, giving it good structure. Faded fast after hour three losing its backbone, becoming thinner and more red fruit dominated which continued into the 1/3 of a bottle left for day 2.

Delicious Napa Cab. Consumed in less-than-optimal conditions in Davenport. Black cherry, plum pie, tar, creosote, espresso grounds, and menthol. Nice chewy tannins with moderate acidity. Drink now through 2028+.

Nice fruit and balanced wine. Minerality is on the low side that makes it a bit soft on its structure.

Tasted along side the 2007 vintage. Both bottles in my cellar since release. Both wines are indistinguishable from each other visually. Translucent, medium to dark garnet with no bricking. The nose of both are very similar but the 2008 has a distinctly richer, slightly raisined element that also shows some sweetness rather than the florals in the 2007. On the palate it is richer and a mix of black and red fruited, slightly more jammy with black currant, cherry and …

Nose subdued. Maybe served too cold. Or possible storage issue as it wasn’t in my better wine fridge. Retry tonight. With update. Much more expressive tonight. A lot of camphor or herbal leather?
