Ramey Chardonnay Fort Ross - Seaview

Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, pineapple, papaya & some citrus notes of lemons/limes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, stony, spices & a slight hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, ripe flavors of apples, pineapple & lemons/limes with minerals, butter, a hint of honey & a slight hints of oak/vanilla in the background. …

Litt funky spritz ved åpning, men etter litt karaffelakrobatikk ble den bra. Sitrondrops, gule melne epler, hvit fersken, hermetiske pærer, Kviteseidsmør og rista nøtter. Grapefruktig bitterhet i avslutningen. Fyldig kremet vin med litt skarp syrlighet og en god del utilslørt fataroma. Vinen har litt balanseproblemer. Rik munnfølelse i starten, fattigere og dalende fra midten til finalen. Grei vin for fire hundre.

This is the last of my Thanksgiving wines. I did not get to open it on Thanksgiving day so I pulled the cork the other night and began sipping. This is a most unusual Chardonnay. It has the oaky flavor consistent with a Cali Chard, and an undertow of Lemony Citrus below. I can't say that I was thrilled with this wine, but I can't say that it is bad either. Is it worth $45 a bottle? Not really.

Our Thanksgiving table wine! Hitting on all cylinders with a Meyer lemon edge and finish. Toasty element at mid-palate. Drink or hold.

Drukket over ca 1 time før julebordet. Eik og mer eik....Ikke noe feil med vinen, men en påminnelse for meg om hvorfor jeg ikke drikker eika chardonnayer. Riesling GG-en vi smakte ved siden av ble foretrukket av 6/7 smakere, mens sistemann var delt.

Pale lemon colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe green apples, lemon, charred wood, toast and chalk. Medium taste of ripe green apples, lemon, toast, chalk and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Fort Ross Seaview Chardonnay. Drink now or over the next six years. Goes well with cheeses, fish or shellfish.

White orchard fruits, some vanilla bean notes on the palate. A well made wine for the area.

Mid weight and mostly crisp in style. White peach and pomelo grapefruit on the palate, with just a light touch of butter and oak, followed by a zing of mouthwatering lemony acidity and salty minerality on the finish. Very tasty!

At $34.95 good value as a weekday wine. Worked well with Chinese food. Not oaky or buttery and that suits us. Crisp with hints of fall fruit.
