Domaine de Chatenoy Menetou-Salon Blanc

We paid 20€. There are two ways to look at Menetou-Salon: either an under the radar good value or Sancerre’s uninspiring little step-sister. This wine was more of the latter. Good stuff, has gained some weight since I last tasted it a couple of months ago. Fairly complex, sauvignon-fruit driven nose (lychees, gooseberries). In the mouth, a bit of a let down as the intensity is lacking and there is some dilution. Overcropping? Decent but short finish.

- Greenish color with fast forming legs and aromas of apple, lemon and cut green grass. It's balanced and has flavours of apple, lemon and artichoke with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Very nice complex body. Interesting wine. Will open thoughout the coming months. See how it develops.
