2006 Annata regolare e bilanciata, con primavera fresca e settembre asciutto e ventilato. Ottimale maturazione fenolica e acida. Barolo in piena evoluzione ma ancora sorprendentemente giovane. Colore granato vivo. Profumi di timo, lavanda, tabacco, china e macchia mediterranea. Bocca tesa, viva, con tannino ancora in piena spinta. Elegante e profondo, capace di lunghissimo invecchiamento.

Decanted for sediment. Even at 17 years, this wine is still mostly red fruit and baking spices. Really strong notes of ripe red cherry, cherry cough drop, cinnamon candy, cherry cordial on the nose with a bit of cedar cigar box. Maybe a hint of balsamic as well. Most folks don’t have the opportunity to taste well aged Barolo, but if you’re lucky enough to lay a few bottles down, your view of Barolo may never be the same. MG. Few hours in the decanter. What a lovely surprise this was. It’s got it all. All the classic Barolo charmers. Good tannic grip as well as mature fruit to match. And the wine doesn’t seem tired or over the top at all. Yes it is mature so you need to appreciate that level of Barolo. A producer I need to look out for.

Drinking beautifully right now. Great match for mushroom risotto in a cold winter night.

Light red color , nose of black pepper , red fruits , cocoa , on the palate good sapidity and also the acidity is inviting. Tannins almost resolved. Long finish. It was a surprise. Next one in a couple of years.

Tasted this at the Barolo Enoteca and on this day this was the best of the 3 I tasted there. I had an attractive dark ruby red color that was transparent throughout. The nose presented antipasti: specifically salami and other cured meats, cinammon, and balsamic scents. Mint and licorice on the nose. Powerful, tannic, tobacco, red fruits and licorice. Very tannic and young. Really nice but needs 8-10 years to show it's best.

It was dark ruby red with aromas of tart cherries and hints of tobacco. It was full bodied, a bit sharp/young on the palate, very dry with strong red cherry flavors. Long dry finish.
