Infanticide. Tight! Even after triple decant and a couple hours. Nose came around…palate fine and very drying tannins. Hold.

Well aged nebbiolo Quite Elegant, with notes of red berries, rose petals and forest floor. Improved with air Would buy again.

Sehr verhaltene Frucht (Pflaume, etwas dunkle Sauerkirsche), dazu Noten von Veilchen, vielleicht etwas Rose, etwas Zimt, rauchige und mentholige Noten. Am Gaumen kommt für mich noch etwas Bleistift hinzu, außerdem dominiert hier für mich eine nicht ganz integrierte Säure. Das Tannin ist geschliffen und feinkörnig und trotzdem reichlich vorhanden, dazu gibt’s hier ordentlich Mineralität. Fleischig im Abgang, auch etwas alkoholisch-süß. Insgesamt ein Wein der beschäftigt, wenngleich mir die Harmonie und damit ein wirkliches Trinkvergnügen etwas fehlt. Edit: Über den Abend …

Vinefera Imports Tasting (Giovanni) : It is drinking ok. I guess I hoped for more. Many 96's are just now coming around, but this one while not showing old, doesn't have that much to offer. Some cherries, some tar. A bit of complexity. That's about it. Oh well.
