Undrinkable. This has turned to shit. Pruny, raisiny, almost port like. Raisin Liquer? WTF? I went long on this due to the "Pro" Reviews. Poured down the sink. One of my worst buys. And I have more. SMH

drinking over a couple of nights - as with the earlier bottle, I think this is a little beyond its peak, some good structure, but much of any fruit is good (or a little oxidized)

Nose is of dark fruits and leather with a touch of earthy notes. On the tongue it's of dark cherries, with that leather coming in from the back, kinda strong and an alcohol bite. The tannins are smooth and the finish is good...it's that alcohol bite that I dislike...the reviews are mixed and the cost to the drink doesn't add up to the value.

Good cork and color on wine. Deep red. Prune and strong raisin with marked harsh tannin. Tannins tamed out after a day. Parker’s darkest hour ever rating this winery high marks. Just a poorly made wine.

Much better than my last bottle. Blackberry, dark chocolate. Strong finish. Should last another 5 years easy.

Big and powerful with floral, cherry, oak, spice, perfume, dark chocolate and a touch of pepper. Long finish.

Cellared since release. Decanted 90 minutes. Heavy sediment. Definitely port-like. Chocolate, blackberry, currant. Phenomenal. But, this is the end of the timeline.

Slow oxed several hours then decanted several more before consumption. This was monolithic. Had some interesting notes of bramble, leather but missing complexity. Kinda boring. This won't improve. Big wine. Some alcohol creeping which was a turn off but not overly so just a tad distracting. Drink em if you got em! Tried again 3 days later, got worse. Hot. Nice aroma however, regardless not tasty and drained.

Bouquet was still very plum and Port like, which isn't my favorite. Texture was incredible, and so smooth like velvet on the tongue. Good, but not great bottle. Probably a little past its prime.

Another terrific bottle of this wine which is now well into its prime drinking window. Still sporting a dense purple colour, the nose explodes with blackberry preserve, creosote, star anise, cassis and tobacco. Rich dark cherries and Chinese plums on the silky palate are delivered with energy and perfect harmony. An excellent wine which needs a careful decanting off its considerable sediment. Only about 30 minutes of air were needed to capture the fireworks.

Quite good, refined, smooth, has lost the upfront fruit, should probably have consumed earlier

dark color, smokey, dried cherry and prune, moderate tannin - perhaps a little beyond the peak, at least for this bottle

Slow Ox for 90 mins. Ready to go. A wine that is easily remembered for its unique flavor profile. Blackberries n' creme hiding behind an acidity-free green olive, eucalyptus, and eggplant tapanade before emerging at middle palate through the finish. Sounds terrible, but it is wonderful. Some dried herbs, touches of red currant, spice and sweet Oak. Silky smooth. 50 second finish.

Purple in color. 14.9% ABV. Sensational nose of black and blue fruits, scorched earth, Whitman Sampler box and violets. Rich, plush and full bodied. Perfectly balanced with seemingly resolved tannins. Blueberry, cassis liqueur, chocolate truffle and tobacco leaves on the palate. The finish is long and lush. Stunning Cabernet Sauvignon that has aged well. For me this wine never reached the heights of the ’02 which also received a perfect score. A pleasure to drink nonetheless. Best over the next …

Celebrated my son’s 21st Birthday with this bottle from his birth year. Purchased direct from the winery & cellared since. Decanted table side at Lewnes’ in Annapolis for an hour. Smooth tannins & very fruit forward & slightly heavy profile. Alcohol from the warm vintage was very noticeable. Very good wine but not great & I blamed the extraction & alcohol for that.

Deep purple color, nose has lots of dark fruit as well as a lot of heat/alcohol,even afrer 3 hour decant. That said, the wine is pretty gorgeous in the mouth, with lots of luscious blackberry fruit, still some tannins but smooth and not overly dry. Really delicious long finish.

Not sure if this is just an off bottle or the bottom fell out over the last 3 years since I last had one. Nose is fine, lots of blackberry. On palette though a different story. Lots of plum notes. Thin on the finish. Hoping this was a one off dud. Will want to open another soon.

Plenty of life left for these wines. Plenty of fruit and pepper and while the tannins have softened I think there’s at least another five years of good drinking window.

After an hour in the decanter, opened up with a prune-y nose, with black fruits and light eucalyptus flavors. Annoyingly aggressive alcohol numbs the mouth after a second glass. A decent Cab, but nowhere close to the perfect WA score it was given just a few years ago.

Out of the 4 cabs this was clearly the weakest, although it had very strong competition (Latour, Lafite, Ridge). Still, this had promise, with camphor, higher toned dark berries, and an rich, silky, slightly glycerin -overly polished sort of aspect. Maybe over-produced? Opened earlier in the day ahead of a Cab bottle fest & dinner. Cork was a bit of a struggle. dried top but snug and clean bottom. Contents were in fine condition. Great depth and breadth in the aromatics. Complex aroma of ripe and dried dk red fruits. Integrated savouries of cedar, tobacco and subtle mint. Mouth-filling body and repeat of the aromatic elements. Long finish. Briliant with the ribeyes and lamb chops. My WOTN. Thanks for popping DV!

It was hard to tell what the wine tasted like, because the layers of alcohol absolutely smashed my taste buds. It was port like, almost young port, and I simply don’t understand the attraction to this wine. But then again, after drinking 14.9% wine maybe I’m just too drunk to write this note.

There are no great wines, only great bottles. So true and this was a prime example. For my tastes, a perfect expression of aged Cab. This bottle was complex, balanced and showed the elegance you find so rarely. Amazing bottle. Drink or hold.

90 minute decant and it continued to improve thereafter. Blackberries, black cherry, eucalyptus, tobacco, slight touch of red fruits and herb with a creamy vanilla on a very long finish. Velvety smooth.
