Still dark ruby in colour. Initially a lack of fruit in the palate but after time in the glass, it opened to offer a blackberry touch and gentle tannins.

{screwcap, 13%} Sweetly earthy but still black-fruited developing nose. Palate is medium weight, full of sweetly evolving blackberries, some earth, hint of compost. Has pronounced acidity flirting with some gentle volatility; the tannins are low, soft, dusty. It leaves the wine a little simple and perhaps a bit unbalanced, but it’s nicely medium weight, with s medium length gentle finish, not too sweet, if not so earthy as Hunters of old. Not worth keeping, but will hold half a decade …

Still needs time for mine.

Red fruits up front, with a good mix of tannins, oak and acids on the medium weighted palate. It's a tasty drop, and with a good spell in a decanter, is drinking well with food.

GMs - Aussie Classics : Bright red fruit and floral notes with raspberry, strawberry and blackcurrant. Good tannins, with a kick of fruit through the middle providing quite an intense profile. Good length, would benefit from more time.

Impressive. Gorgeous aroma. Mid-weight palate. Nothing forced. Touch of sherbet intense fruit but wrapped up with youthful acidity. I expect that this will be best at around 10 year of age (higher points then). And last considerably longer. Rather fabulous in that this is not Northern Rhone nor is it rich Aussie shiraz. It follows a middle ground without imitating either. Hunter shiraz is like Hunter semillon, one of the great secrets of the wine world. 13% ABV. Screwcap.

This is a fantastic medium bodied shiraz from the hunter valley. It is fantastic with food. I recently shared one over a cafe meal, and then shared another over some cheese. This is a really nice wine to share with friends over a meal. lovely fragrant nose. I would definitely recommend this wine if you are looking for something not as big and bold as a barossa or mclaren vale.

Bright red fruit and vibrant acidity define this young wine. Wonderful balance but really needs time to develop complexity.
