Aging very nicely. Rich nose. Deep color. Very nice black fruits, mild tannins. Very good upon opening. Coravin’d a couple glasses with beef stew. After an hour, the last of my glass flattened out a bit. Very happy with this bottle.

Day 1: Poured in glass and sat for 1hr, drank over another 45 min. Entry is dark fruit that quickly moves to strong drying tannins; no noticeable fruit once the tannins take over. No hint of cabernet. I had a bottle of this about 9 mo ago and it was reasonable; tannins not overpowering and a bit of cabernet. Improved since my last bottle. The rough tannin has become more polished, and the fruit seems a little sweeter and more in focus. Though not destined for greatness, we enjoyed this bottle and it was a reasonable value.

with 6% Merlot, 2% Cab Franc. Medium nose shows fresh cedar, black plum, cassis, dark chocolate, espresso. Palate shows more, nice layers of fruit, blackberry, baking spice, hint of graphite, coffee grounds. Structure backs it up well, maybe a little tight at the moment. Not super exciting but nice value for the region/type.

Pnp through a vinturri. Medium ruby/purple-garnet in colour. Nose of boysenberries, blackberries, with some black cherries with a slight hint of vanilla. There are ripe cherries with some plums and touches of fresh tobacco chew and vanilla on the palate; a some oak is noticed. Medium bodied with a medium finish.

Tangy blackberry, more so a la Ridge Estate Cab. On the palate, really delivers in that same vein. Medium/- tannin. Medium acid. Wild blackberry finish. Best I’ve had this wine yet.

Like the 2015, it truly is a great Napa Cab. Ruby/purple in color. Big vanilla and oak notes of the nose right out of the gate. Nice cherry and other red fruits on the palate along with vanilla and spice. Lots of tannins too. The acidity keeps everything in check. Not at all jammy. It too should age nicely, but if I had to pick, the 2015 gets the nod.

No detailed notes, but this wine is very young. The oak, and fleshy fruit are at the fore. I poured this into a decanter for a few hours, and the oak integrated a bit, and tannins appeared. I think this is a well constructed wine, that will benefit from 6-12 months of bottle age. Right now, the wine is disjointed---fruit, tannins, oak need to come together. I had the 2015, and it's in a better spot. I'd wait on this …

A lot of merit but also a lot of rough tannin that needs to soften. Initial impression is that there's a significant amount of second rate fruit in the mix, and time will tell if it's good enough to develop into something special. But the wine is approachable, and even enjoyable when paired appropriately, and certainly has something to offer.
