Histoire d'Enfer, Chardonnay Reserve Vieilles Vignes, Valais

Drank with F, S, C and A. Not ideal circumstances for a proper tasting. Served in INAO glasses which was inappropriate, and also served too cool. Fairly high acidity, likely not helped by the temperature. Timid aromas of popcorn, white fruit and faint mango. I think this remains a higher acidity version from a colder vintage. As an accompaniment of salmon toasts (with lemon wedges bringing too much acidity), it was so-so (but the acidity matched), but it was good …

Diam10 cork. Nice medium pale gold. On the nose upon opening, timid aromas of mango, green mango, cotton-candy, peaches from a vine. On the palate, the attack is frank, fruity, with the aromas as noticed on the nose, a hole in the middle of the palate (which was filled on day 2), and a nice return of the aromas with a nice length.
