This bottle didn't make it. Lots of tannins but nothing else left....

Opened a bottle some days ago and it was cloudy and w/o much charm, had to pour it down the drain two days. Opened another one today and it was singing right out of the bottle. Leather and rose petal followed by pleasant but restrained dark fruit flavors and a long, drying finish.

You would never know the age based on the look of this wine but it is nearing the end of its drinkable period. It is still tannic, and a lengthy deep finish that is filled with extracted strong flavors with little to no sweet characteristics from the red and black fruit essences that linger. Still some complexity but not a huge fan.

Just ok. Not a lot of fruit here. There really wasn't too much fruit to start with in this wine's life. Great color decent nose but ends there.

This is a high acid wine that needs to be consumed with food. Does well with charcuterie: some spicy salchichon brings out the sweetness of the fruit. But not enjoying it all that much on its own. Noticing a touch of hotness. Would not buy again, even though it looked like a bargain for $24 from WTSO.

Very tannic and astringent upon opening. After 1.5 hour double decant and 30 minutes in the glass finally started to open up. Paired with modern italian food. Just ok by the end of the night.

Earth and violets nose. High acid, soft tannins, fresh finish. Good food wine.

Brickish in color, almost worried it had turned, burnt wood on the nose, stringent and still tannin on the palet, needs to be paired with a high fat meat like steak or bolognese.

I agree with most other notes - quite thin and very acidic. Becomes a bit sour after too much air. Drink now.

This is a very angular, high acid Barolo. Enticing nose with earth and floral elements. Flavors of plum, licorice, tar, leather. May be slightly oxidized.

A bit muted and acidic On day 1. Day 2, the flavor profile expanded and it became well balanced. Will definitely hold my other bottle for a while.

Light, clear, transparent ruby. Nose of fresh strawberry and rosewater, with a bit of alcohol. Light, dilute strawberry-cherry palate, evolving after about an hour to sour cherry, without really putting on adequate weight. Odd to meet a Barolo with this light a presence. Not terrible, but did not earn even the fairly low tariff.

Little change since last tasting 18 months ago, except came across as unyielding tonight, confirming that it needs time to mature. Day 2: just barely hinting at the potential to come. Showed some of the fiery cinnamon that I tasted in the 2010. Palate became sinewy compared to yesterday, but not at all silky. Still very rough on the surface.

Perhaps this wine was so appealing due to the lesser company against which it was tasted. At any rate it is classic though not overwhelming Barolo, still tight after 2+ hours of air after decanting, yet quite drinkable. In sum, it was a great match with New Year's Eve prime rib.

I can totally see what Vineaux says about the wine. I'm thinking (hoping?) that it will evolve nicely. Currently drinking like a typical young, tight, tannic Borolo. I'm planning to give it more than a few hours to see where it goes. 2nd day. Opened up a little. Started showing some secondary aromas and flavors. Some leather, au jus, and mild forest floor. Still tannic and a bit hot. I'm going to let 'em lie for a year or two …

light, light, light. color: brick cherry (almost like a young diluted pinot noir), nose: alcoholic and would not go away after 2-3 hours of breathing after vituri'ed. Leather, not much of a nebiolo... was hoping for a decent aged barolo - by the way, i seem to get this light-bodied wine in a barbaresco more than a barolo. Not recommended. not QPR at $20 (wtso) - I will try cooled (50F) with a burger with my other bottles.

Beautiful transitions between pink/orange to ruby. Thick watery edge. Earth and smoke on the nose. Palate is not extraordinary with nothing really jumping out, but it is integrated and ready to drink now. Good finish despite the less than stellar palate.

Tasting at Enoteca Regionale del Barolo (Enoteca Regionale del Barolo in Barolo) : Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of earth, soy sauce, roses, red fruits. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, smooth medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of earth, soy sauce, leather, and sour red cherries. Long finish. Very good quality Barolo. Can drink now, and will continue to improve over the next …

Great traditional barolo. Solid black fruit and nose of flowers, and earth. Very balanced. Needs time.
