At first it was very closed. After a few hours it became alive and it was quite delicious. It was even better the next day.

Opaque blackish purple. One of the darkest, least transparent wines I've ever had. Abundant nose of plum, prune, slight funkiness. Initially tension, flintiness plus delicious red and black fruit. Touch of meat and nice oaky heft. Well balanced and not at all stewed or over-ripe. Very good backbone and long finish. Really drinking well right now. Truly excellent.

Dark ruby, no brick. Lightly expressive nose of red fruit, meats, licorice. Body is still full with partially resolved tannins with an acid core that leads to a long finish. Great with burgundy beef. Lovely wine and lived well past Dunnuck’s prediction.

Wow! Our dinner guests brought this over double-decanted (~1hr) and it triumphed alongside charcuterie & cheese board as well as braised short ribs dinner. Definitely entering tertiary territory but fresh and lively. Espresso and dark chocolate notes along with dried currants and black fig. Full bodied but not tiring with well-integrated alcohol and great fruit. Such a treat to savour. Thanks D & L!

CWM Holiday Dinner & Grab Bag (Adelle's) : Deep youthful color with aromas of red and black fruit that follow through on the palate. Garrigue, white pepper and dried meat qualities in the background. Gorgeous. (D&L)

Opened by Dan. I last had this in 2018. A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Blackish red color. This was a full bodied wine with a real nice tannic burn on the finish. Ripe red fruit with burnt oak and spices. 94 points.

Good CdP. Took time to open, even after decanting. Tertiary development starting but still so dense. Deep fruit, tomatillo, herbs. Calls for food, particularly something rich.

Final bottle from half case. Drinking nicely in tertiary phase. No rush and no reason to wait. Nice performer for the price.

Dark fruit, black cherry and licorice on the palate. Needs a decant to coax out the nuances.

Well advanced in its tertiary development. Mushrooms and barnyard complement healthy remaining fruit. This wine has performed well over the years. Will drink my final bottle soon.

Corked. Bummer. The other bottle, which we drank last year, was excellent.

Dinner at Lockland Table. PNP, needed some time to open. Black fruits, licorice, spice and earth on the nose. Dense dark fruit medium to full bodied with plenty of acid and tannin to carry for a while. Dark fruit, menthol still plenty of time. 92 points.

Changed quite a bit over the four hours. PnP was a bit of a shock as it was still quite "hot". Mellowed (in a good way) over the time i drank it. Def think it needs more time in the cellar to settle into its prime.

A full throttle, intense, serious CdP. Inky purple color. Needs decant; better night two. On the palate, black cherry, plum, raspberry licorice and leather. Moderate sediment.

Opaque purple color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off concentrated, fragrant, alluring notes of ripe red and dark berries on high octane with faint hints of vanilla and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied, modern in style, layered, concentrated, but fantastic acidity to balance the the ripe blackberry, blueberry, plum flavors with secondary notes of cola, lavender, mild vanilla on toasted oak. Finishes long and heightened with a streak of white pepper and …

Definitely in the dark fruit spectrum and somewhat brooding. Would not be able to identify thus as a CdP in a blind tasting. Missing its typicity.

Excellent first bottle of a half case. I'm betting that this gets even better with more age and secondary flavor development. Excited to track the remaining bottles.
