The WA review implies there is smoke taint. I opened this young wine to see if there was a smoke taint issue and did not detect any smoke taint. The other reviews on CT are positive with no mention of smoke taint. The wine is young now and takes a while to open up. This can be enjoyed now with a decant but the balance of mine will cellar for five years or more.

Honestly this has not evolved from my last btl in 2018, still in a transition state, vinturied 3xs. No sign of age and beautiful in the glass, some what muted on the mid to end palate. It never popped after 3 hours open. I’m holding my last btl 2-3 more years. Drink 2024/6

Got two of these directly from visiting the winery. This was better than the previous one, possibly because I had it upright in my cabinet for a few days before opening - I find that makes a difference. This was subtle and very well balanced, nothing awry and it felt quite ready to drink. Delicious really. 93+ pts.

Pleasant enough, medium-bodied, some acidity giving some lift. From the winery.

A garnet colored beauty with layer after layer of depth and flavors. The wine is full-bodied with a silky texture and long, complex finish that will keep you guessing at all the flavors you are experiencing. This is a wine that will make all of your dinner guests ask you what you are serving them. It is that good and a standout at this price!

Decanted one hour. Deep smoke and candied beef jerky on the nose. Similar, but more fruit forward, brooding palate. Smooth, medium long finish with firm tannins.

Two hour decant. Medium slow legs. Deep inky/ruby color. Blackberry, cassis, coffee, leather and plum nose. Rich fruit palate of baked cherry, blackberry, baking spice and cocoa. Soft silk texture. Excellent balance. Long finish. 14.5% ABV. This is a wine that demands food for me. Starting the bottle with a Kobe ribeye helped transition it into sipping it alone. This is a big rich bright fruit forward wine. 52 Malbec - 36 Cabernet - 12 Petit Verdot

Very nice blend, loads of chocolate, black cherry, spicy notes on both the nose and finish. Paired nicely with prime bone in rib eye from Flemings.

Why. Don't we do something to show the malbec off? But the petite verdot shows through.
