A blend of 42% Merlot, 38% Malbec, 14% Petite Verdot and small amounts of Cab Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this wine is comprised of those grapes not selected for Trefethen's high end blend made for aging. This wine is produced for immediate consumption. Aerated but not decanted. Dark fruit nose. Fruit forward with plum, cherry, bramble, smoke and a hint of oak. Short, spicy and less tannic finish than found with many red blends. An excellent QPR from a well-respected …

This was forgettable on the first day, next day it comes together nicely, generally rather soft, smooth, and ripe, dark fruit. The blend works well and will probably get better down the road, feeling generous so giving this 90pts. Update: full disclosure, on the first day of opening this I wanted to return it to the store or dump it because it was so soft, sweet, and boring. On the third day this was quite amazing, dryer, firmer, serious. Give …

The Fleming's 100 50/50 Tasting Event Walnut Creek, listed as a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, slightly subdued nose as it was opened in front of me, nose of black cherry, black currants, dusty earth, fairly floral nose, same on the palate, medium/ big body, medium amount of very soft tannins, good acid, tasty, medium/long finish, tasted twice with the same results.

Pretty sophisticated wine at a reasonable price. Chill it properly and let it breathe for 30 minutes. It opens up nicely, revealing fairly deep color, good legs, and a varied finish.

Ran through aereator and got plum and oak. This could have set awhile to intergrate the oak more.

Inky purple, med heavy weight. Aromas of licorice, oak, blueberry, blackberry. On the palate immediate blueberry and red fruit, soft tannins and leather/dust. V long finish. An elegant, if moderately more American/fruit-forward take on the traditional Bordeaux blend. Delicious and refreshingly non-generic.

Nice garnet color. The nose on day one was tight. Day two had cherries, cedar and a hint of rose. I wish it was a little bigger though. Nice red fruit, firm tannins.

Very nice, immediately on the nose. Mild tannins. The fruit is sweeter, dark fruit, with hints of spice. The finish is long and enjoyable

Black cherry jello nose. Dominant blackberry fruit with a over done charred oak character. Green tasting with a somewhat bitter finish.
