6th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, glacial development but perhaps even nicer than last May's bottle. lovely polished cherry fruit, intense but with just enough austerity to remind you it's GC Corton, greater nuance to be expected, upside, 15+ years. F+ (18).

this is a lovely wine that took about half an hour in the glass to open to its fullest potential. Initial overtones of vanilla and banana that soon dissipated. I wouldn’t keep it much longer, but it was a delightful pairing tonight with pork tenderloin served with fresh grilled figs in a ginger/teriyaki sauce. I wish I had more bottles left in my cellar.

5th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, after 2 duff bottles, it's a relief to have a lovely clean bottle, glossy youthful ruby, slightly polished black cherry and plum fruit with some minerality and an austere edge, fine length, persistence and intensity, inherent GC drive, presents as in late adolescence, upside, 12+ years. Amazing nose with complex tertiary aromas, game, leather, ripe fruits and earth. The palate is not quite as great, but still very good. Light, elegant with mild tannins and a nice balancing acidity.

7 hour decant helped make this enjoyable but it would have benefitted from more time. Super light and floral with decent balance and finish. Hard to say if this is in its prime given the amount of or lack of fruit present. Should drink well for another decade plus.

My last bottle of a wine I've loved. And a good time to be finishing these up while still plenty energetic and stately, even after a couple of hours' air. More finessed black cherry rises through the delightful rounded tannins as the night goes on. Still spicy; taking on some coffee notes. End of peak for me, now -2029, but there's still packed structure and decent fruit so, if you have a few, bury one to try in ten years.

Burg/Bordeaux Dinner with BYO Gang (The Kongsee) : Pale garnet, and visible browning and fading edges. Aromas mainly of dried cherry and tomato, then hint of dried florals and hay. Tannins nearly completely resolved, while flavours mostly of forest floor, slight fungals, nutmeg, five spices, and meat roast, while the cherry fruits felt rather receded. There’s some nice ‘99 black cherry fruit, but the unintegrated wood notes really dominate, and the wine seems to be drying out. I think with less aggressive oak would be a nice not quite ready Corton, as is it’s a disappointing and not going in right direction wine C+/B-

A real surprise. Not like other 2003 burgs I've tasted. Very well balanced, complex. Doesn't show the huge fruit of Bouchard Corton's but fruit is in the background. Big for Corton yet showing elegance and character, much complexity. Fine burgundy that should keep for many years (8-10 minimum) but very drinkable now.

92-93. On pnp it was dark fruited and rustic. Really blossomed with 3 hours of air and a re-chill back to cellar temp, which brough out black cherry, red currant, plum skin, and a polished rounded mouthfeel with med+ body.

Nose of red cherry, candied cherry, and pomegranate. Palate shows firm layers of earth, fat tannins, dry red fruits, and a light oak note. Long caressing tannins on the finish with cherry put, white pepper, wet soil, and bark. This win is hard to break down into component notes, it comes across as a complete package.

Started out dark and rustic. However after a couple hours open it really started to brighten up and paired very well with the tasting menu. The fruit and elegance both started to show. Very good wine, in a good drinking window. Likely at or just coming down from its peak. No rush to drink but I will drink my last bottle within 2 years.
