6th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, glacial development but perhaps even nicer than last May's bottle. lovely polished cherry fruit, intense but with just enough austerity to remind you it's GC Corton, greater nuance to be expected, upside, 15+ years. F+ (18).

2008 Bouchard et Fils Le Corton GC Cellared since release; 45 minute decant prior to burgundy lunch December 10, 2025 Garnet core fading to brown at the rim. Beautiful and complex bouquet of dark fruit, earth, and "sous bois" The palate featured a compilation of mature red and dark fruit, beautiful balance, acidity, soft tannins, and a 15 second finish. There was tremendous complexity that mirrored the nose, and heightened the enjoyment over 2 hours. A really good showing for …

this is a lovely wine that took about half an hour in the glass to open to its fullest potential. Initial overtones of vanilla and banana that soon dissipated. I wouldn’t keep it much longer, but it was a delightful pairing tonight with pork tenderloin served with fresh grilled figs in a ginger/teriyaki sauce. I wish I had more bottles left in my cellar.

5th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, after 2 duff bottles, it's a relief to have a lovely clean bottle, glossy youthful ruby, slightly polished black cherry and plum fruit with some minerality and an austere edge, fine length, persistence and intensity, inherent GC drive, presents as in late adolescence, upside, 12+ years. F+ (18).

I think I got quite lucky based on all the CellarTracker reviews that precede mine on this bottle. A perfectly stored bottle, this wine was firing on all cylinders at dinner on the night, serving as perfect redemption for a not-so-great bottle of Bouchard Le Corton from 2002 I had opened a month or so ago. The nose boasted an incredible balance of sweet red cherries, cola, tobacco and sous bois, but the palate was what swayed me. Packed with …

Delicious showing from half bottle. Needed about 1.5h to really show balanced and yes although a warm year, it did perform very well and better than other 03s I’ve had recently. Nice!

Amazing nose with complex tertiary aromas, game, leather, ripe fruits and earth. The palate is not quite as great, but still very good. Light, elegant with mild tannins and a nice balancing acidity.

7 hour decant helped make this enjoyable but it would have benefitted from more time. Super light and floral with decent balance and finish. Hard to say if this is in its prime given the amount of or lack of fruit present. Should drink well for another decade plus.

13.5% alcohol. The cork crumbles bit by bit upon extraction and the "ah so" called to the rescue makes matters worse, only pushing the cork down; rescued finally with the original corkscrew inserted at an angle. Light colour with very substantial fading at the rim. The nose is immediately enchanting with red berries, decayed leaves and a great sense of harmony. Equally good in the mouth with layers of flavours and superb length; great completeness, superb acidity and no direct …

Deep ruby red/crimson in color. Very strange evolution with this wine, almost old Barolo'esque. The first day right pouring into burgundy stem, very disjointed aromas and acidity/gamey, did not get any better after 1 h. Decided to cork it back up and store in refrigerator. Next day was far better, and got even better on second day after same storage. Aromas of lifted alpine herbs, spice box, forest-floor and hint of game and dark plums coated with chocolate. Medium bodied …

My last bottle of a wine I've loved. And a good time to be finishing these up while still plenty energetic and stately, even after a couple of hours' air. More finessed black cherry rises through the delightful rounded tannins as the night goes on. Still spicy; taking on some coffee notes. End of peak for me, now -2029, but there's still packed structure and decent fruit so, if you have a few, bury one to try in ten years.

More garnet than ruby now from age. Forest floor and a touch of strawberry on the nose, which was somewhat muted. Tastes of cola, black cherry and red meat. Tannins are soft, but maybe too much so. Near the end -- better drink up my remaining bottle.

Burg/Bordeaux Dinner with BYO Gang (The Kongsee) : Pale garnet, and visible browning and fading edges. Aromas mainly of dried cherry and tomato, then hint of dried florals and hay. Tannins nearly completely resolved, while flavours mostly of forest floor, slight fungals, nutmeg, five spices, and meat roast, while the cherry fruits felt rather receded. It's one that had seen better days years ago, but I think is past its best now. Quite a pity

There’s some nice ‘99 black cherry fruit, but the unintegrated wood notes really dominate, and the wine seems to be drying out. I think with less aggressive oak would be a nice not quite ready Corton, as is it’s a disappointing and not going in right direction wine C+/B-

13.5% alcohol. The wine penetrates the long cork 2/3 of the way. Pale translucent colour with significant fading and some browning at the rim. The nose is mostly tertiary with leather, forrest floor and a hint of caramel. Similarly balanced in the mouth, with spectacular length; an initial quasi-acetic feel dissipates over time. There is a good bit of elegance here. Interesting and complex but probably too far removed from recognisable fruity sensations for my taste; trouble is that it …

Opened 3hrs prior to dinner & finding this very stern I decanted immediately. Served in Riedel Burgs. The decant helped but this still felt reticent and standoffish after 3hrs plus in the decanter. Looking back after the fact, I noticed a couple critics started their drinking window at ... 2028+. In hindsight that seems like pretty good advice. Not a total loss as this did show some of its potential and was fairly enjoyable with steak kebobs. Right now ...89-90pts. …

A real surprise. Not like other 2003 burgs I've tasted. Very well balanced, complex. Doesn't show the huge fruit of Bouchard Corton's but fruit is in the background. Big for Corton yet showing elegance and character, much complexity. Fine burgundy that should keep for many years (8-10 minimum) but very drinkable now.

92-93. On pnp it was dark fruited and rustic. Really blossomed with 3 hours of air and a re-chill back to cellar temp, which brough out black cherry, red currant, plum skin, and a polished rounded mouthfeel with med+ body.

Nose of red cherry, candied cherry, and pomegranate. Palate shows firm layers of earth, fat tannins, dry red fruits, and a light oak note. Long caressing tannins on the finish with cherry put, white pepper, wet soil, and bark. This win is hard to break down into component notes, it comes across as a complete package.

Started out dark and rustic. However after a couple hours open it really started to brighten up and paired very well with the tasting menu. The fruit and elegance both started to show. Very good wine, in a good drinking window. Likely at or just coming down from its peak. No rush to drink but I will drink my last bottle within 2 years.

Decant off minimal sediment. Dark Crimson color. Started to show at an hour and improved over 5 hours. Woodsy stem influence on the nose with deep fruits, floral notes and a touch of inner tube. A real warmth and depth to the nose, but still showing bright fruit, which was impressive at this age. Good weight on the palate. Chewy. Bright and fresh acidity throughout the long finish. Lacks a bit of balance and more brawn than brains, but deep …

Lite grön i stilen initialt med grön sparris på näsan. Det vädrades bort snabbt och sedan var det ett rätt tufft och kompakt vin med bra tanniner. Jag har inte druckit så mycket mogen bourgogne och blev väldigt imponerad.
