Allowed to breathe in glass one hour before tasting. Heavy sediment in bottle. Clear deep dark oxblood-chestnut color. Classic Napa cab on the nose, offering brooding dark fruit, mocha, forest floor, cloves, meat juice, tobacco and mushrooms. Similar on the palate, full body, assertive tannins and acidity, long finish. Seems to have plenty of life left.

Dark color. Aromas of chocolate and black fruit; decent but nondescript. Wonderful mix of red and dark fruit on the palate, along with herbs, cherry and spice. Silky tannins are softened but have a little ways to go yet. Finishes well; nicely balanced. Others liked this quite a bit more than I and thought this needed another 5 years. Guessed CA cab.

Still has some years on it. Licorice and chocolate are the themes in this one with the licorice dominating. If you don't like that this may not be your cup of tea. Had it open over a couple of hours and it mellowed very nicely.

Taken to Randy & Laura's. Opened and poured into a decanter, though it was only 15 minutes or so before it was served. Still very primary. Dark inky garnet color, with notes of black currant and plum. Dark fruit barely showing under the firm yet sweet tannins. I'll wait a few years yet on my last two bottles.
