On sight, light amber/golden orange in color, slight haze, some bubbles show on the rim (but not sparking). Nose does have a hint of Brett, alpine herbs, apricot, mandarin skin, hazelnut skin, saline, wet rock. Light bodied, dry, high tannins, high acid, medium-plus complexity. Flavors of saline, hazelnut skin, orange marmalade, dried alpine herbs, tangerine zest, underripened pear, volcanic soil. Stone fruit comes more to light as it opens and decants. Very fun and interesting

Classic Radikon Ribolla nose of orange, tangerine, chestnut and picks up notes of grapefruit, hibiscus and white strawberry with air. Plenty of acidity with tightly-wound grippy tannins. This still has a long life ahead of it.

Lots of VA at first. Interesting orange color that almost had a hint of pink to it at first. The VA blew off quickly, giving way to orange, stone fruit, and sour candied fruit. Had a butterscotch note on the nose. Overall, lots of cool flavors but thought this was not super well integrated. I had a glass of gravner ribolla recently, and compared to that, this radikon had a sharpness to the acidity and less depth, and just wasn't …

My first Radikon and not really tempted to buy more. I've had a decent amount of Natural wines, orange wines and unique wines and this to me felt disjointed and unbalanced. Very ripe and intense without having the acidity or the purity to balance it out. Felt syrupy on the palate and the finish while long lacked any enjoyment. Very cloudy amber color. Nose of apricots, candied oranges, VA, grapefruit peel and caramel. On the palate, overripe apricot jam, mixed …

Intense nose of butterscotch, orange candy, vanilla, peach rings, and V.A. On the palate, the candied orange and stone fruit flavors dominate over the more caramel-y flavors, which play a background role. Noticeable tannins. Needed some time in the glass to knit together and for some of the VA to blow off. Complex and a little challenging. Good with cheese!

Cloudy orange hue, with a bit of oxidation that blows off in a few minutes. Clean palate marked by depth and finesse. Lengthy finish. Really good in the Conterno sensory glass.

PNP into Zalto Damijan glass (“Root” day): Medium bright copper to the eyes. Savoury, juicy and mature but high toned stone fruits like apricots. Honeyed/slightly preserved apricots. Great palate concentration and good intensity of flavours. Good length. 93 points to me.

Hard to rank by commen standards, so I refrain from giving a score. Obviously this wine won’t make the cut for an DOC, since its obvious flaws as most orange wines (oxidation, volatile acidity, ...) Nevertheless this is definitely interesting. Once you swirl away the funky, cheesy off notes, there is some sour Apple (Granny Smith), honey and some flowers. The palate is quite advanced and has a firm grip with loads of tannins (it went for 2-3 weeks through …

Slightly cloudy burnt orange color - a lot like an aged cider. Expressive nose of honeysuckle, apricots, a and a leesy-cheesy element. Quite a creamy texture. Grippy and slightly bitter palate of maple, honey and apricots. Finishes firm, warm and quite spicy (touch of hot pepper). Bottle notes no sulphites added. Probably not for everyone, but a top shelf example of orange wine for my palate.

Oxydized nose, dry marmalade, no residual sugar. Well made, but not my style.

From memory. Cloudy iced-tea orange. Nose of dry flowers, pommes fruits, and gravel. The palate is surprisingly light-handed, white fruits, tannins, and minerals make it very refreshing considering relatively low acid. The finish is medium-long. This wine was best just lightly chilled, enjoyed with steelhead trout and then roast chicken. A versatile wine which would be a great routine drink if not for the price.

Opened right out of cellar. Took about 30 minutes to come around. Drank nicely, but I think it is time to drink this up. Second bottle a few nights later was superb, with no signs of decline. Chalk up first bottle to bottle variation.

In …

This is the firs time I'am drinking this type of wine (unfiltered white) and I find it very unusual. I imbibe it with stewed duck and I was very content with this wine. It is unclean with little crust, deep orange color. What I liked most was sweet floral nose, like desert table wine, but taste was plane with little bit aside. In conclusion I would like to add that next time I see this wine in wineshop I'll definitely …

Light orange with a cloudy, almost opaque color. Thie first time I ever had this wine, and I was disappointed. There were complex note of granite and flint, but the center was very hollow and I really had to search for the parts I liked. It just seemed sort of flabby and dead. Maybe just a bad bottle or past its time.

Last tasted in July of 2009. Fabulous wine. Cloudy, amber color, with multiple layers of minerals and complexity. Evolves sip by sip with a 45 second finish. A joy to drink. I do not subscribe to a point rating system. if you have never had a Radikon wine and you enjoy old word, purely made wines, you will love this wine.

"Orange" Wines (white grapes fermented w/extended skin contact) (The Jug Shop, San Francisco, California) : Light orange color with slight cloudiness; intriguing, VA, tart orange, clementine, mineral, green herb and smoke nose; tasty, tart, tight orange, tangerine, mineral palate with tangy acidity, tart tannins and a tart mint note showing toward the medium-plus finish 91+ pts.

Wonderfully fragrant, stone fruit, marmalade, spice, spice and the wildest orange/amber color. This possesses moderate complexity and actually developed very little over a 2-3 hour dinner. There is definitely some grip and astringency on the finish, and more stone fruit and floral flavors. While i really like this wine i was a bit let down, maybe my expectations were to high. The mouth actually seemed to close over the 2 hours? Even though it was complex, it didn't change or …
