Stored in temp controlled wine cellar since purchase. Drank side by side with a late 2022 bottling for comparison. 2018 was less carbonated, as expected, and upfront sticky hops had faded. Earthy and nutty on the palate, but still with a strong hop and pine resin nose. Not quite "musty" but definitely tasted its age. Drank alongside a pair of World Wide Stout vintages for some tasting and blending. After drinking 120 in blends all night and expecting it to be bitter and boozy, it's actually not too shabby on its own! The 2018 version is surprisingly restrained, with the heat not too aggressive, and it actually does drink more like a triple IPA than a hoppy barleywine. I'm not saying I'd want this all the time, but it's far better than I expected it …
