Château Rives-Blanques Vin de Pays d'Oc Sauvageon

Not typical Sauvignon, but rich And ripe fruits, drinking well now.

Popped and poured at fridge temp. Nice ripe fruit, with some grassy notes coming through, definitely a rich style of Sauv Blanc, some toffee coming out as well. Rich in the mouth as well, white fruits and toffee (not too strongly). Very enjoyable, now that I knew what to expect, quite delicious and very Rives-Blanques in style.

Popped and poured at fridge temp. What can I say? This is a really good wine, but it certainly lacks any Sauv Blanc characteristics! Heavy melon on the nose, oily consistency on the tongue, but with a nice acidic bight to it. If you didn't know this was Sauv Blanc, you would be with it and into it, but if you are expecting freshly cut grass, currant leaves and cat's piss, you won't find it here. Tough to score this, …
