Exclusive wine tasting @ Utregs Wijnhuis, Utrecht : Intensity medium(+). Maggi, forest floor, fungi. Acidity medium(-). Tannins high. Long finish. Quality showed, but unfortunately the bottle was flawed with resulting atypical aromas.

Medium color but misleading as this is a full bodied wine with tannins so dense they obscure the fruit. Medium finish. Nose a surprising green apple/quince. Was fine with pizza. Alcohol is 14% and it drinks hot. Expect this will be better in 5-10 years.

I think the review previous to this one is spot on. Floral, bright acidity, resolved tannin but still some hanging around. Midweight, floral, some wood (cedar is correct) and even some leathery notes. A very nice wine.

Beautiful mid-weight Sangiovese. Lovely perfume of red fruit and hints of spice and cedar. Well balanced with good acidity to complement the ample red fruit. Tannins have softened from last bottle 2 years ago. Will be interesting to see if this develops further complexity with age.

The CT score of 89.5 does obviously not do justice to this wine. Transparent garnet with clear rim. A nose dominated by fine wood spices, on the palate this is still fairly tight but not unapproachable, red fruit, a classic style could be mistakes for a young Barolo but the tannins remain pretty much in the background here. Will give it 2-3 years to open up before trying my luck again. Hard to tell now how much this will open …

Not sure what I think about this wine... the tannin was way too pronounced and the fruit was way to muted. Decanted for two hours prior too. Hmmm... only time will tell.
