Popped and poured. Medicinal cherry cough drop nose, candied with nose burning warmth. Soft dry hot cherry flavors. Good texture with a cherry cola character. Fairly long warm finish. I did not find this wine offering much pleasure as I found it over ripe and hot. Could not drink more than a glass.

COLOR: Brickish light garnet NOTE: I guess I have a different view than some on this one. It's quintessential PN for me and completely varietally correct. Nose is raspberry jam, old leather, cola and anise. Mouth is still rich, but not so much opulent as it used to be. This is getting to be an old soldier. Have to sort of agree with Jeff here. Completely not correct from a varietal standpoint. But...damn this is good.I mean damn tasty. Medium/full bodied, like slathering your palate with smash cherries, blueberries and spices. Could drink this all day, smiling the entire time at the hedonism inherent in consuming this. What is this? To a degree, who cares...

Sweet syrupy, with some cough medicine on the nose. Tastes generic to me - I've had a dozen various pricy Cali Pinot cum cough medicine wines in the past couple months, and this is cast in the same mold. For the style, it is a pretty good example. Sweet and reasonably tasty. But I could get that in a $10 Aussie Shiraz. I want my Pinot to sign of its homeland, and this wine is singing only Top 40 hits.

Your Happy Wine (Mark) : Tasted double blind. Dark berry nose with exotic wood. Tastes of blackberry, liquorice, sage, caramel, spice, cinnamon and black pepper. Bright fruit with a complex and layered finish. I couldn't guess the varietal but no one else could either. Impressive. I remember liking this producer the last time I tried it as well. Definitely worth seeking out. Brought by Scott. 14.3% alcohol.

double blind. i couldn't guess the varietal, except when i threw up my hands and said "ok, it's probably a pinot" in jest. i would really like to follow a bottle of this over more time and less sharing. it was quite interesting because i found it to be a very lush wine without the overpowering fruit that so many new wave pinots impart. there was good component completeness, nice red fruit without a confectionary aspect, but...something still didn't work …

Opened the bottle for about 3 hours and left in the cellar before dinner. This is a classic RRV pinot rich with black cherry and rasberry along with some vanilla and a slight earthiness. The acidity gives it a nice zing but at times it seemed a little disjointed. 93 pts

Great wine. Starts off with a lot of fruit blueberry, cherry, etc. After 30-45 minutes really settled down and the minerality and complexity came through with an excellent finish. Going to check back next year and also decant for the next bottle. 95
