I Colli Rossi Langhe Nebbiolo Heredis

Day 1 this was just fair.. it seemed to be off color when poured into the glass and while the taste wasn't off, it wasn't at all what I remembered it to be from prior bottles. I thought it was a bit flat and missing any substance overall. Perhaps it's on the verge of turning, and I will see what today brings. Waited too long this I fear.

Disappointing. Flabby and watery with an overbearing cola-and-orange-juice flavour. By day 2 the synthetic sweetness isn't so prominent and more intriguing earthy and herbal flavours emerge. But it's still very dilute with very little tannin and acidity. £8 is inexpensive for nebbiolo in the UK but it should buy something that offers a bit more pleasure than this.

Very pleasant overall. Nice dusky nose of dark fruit with hints of wood. Good rich balance on the palate: dark fruit, structure and barely enough acidity. Improved as it was open.

Medium body, round, very subtle.

Very pleasant but missing strong nebbiolo notes. Some tannin if you look for it but not much otherwise. Nice red fruit on the nose and, esp. the palate. good balance of acidity, fruit and structure so very well made. But I was hoping for a bit more based on the hype. Nonetheless, a good value. It does hold up well with food.

Very good with well seasoned Italian food andbeef. A little light in body and color but surprisingly full bodied. On its own, I found it weak but loved it with food. Medium tannins, and might ruby color. Very pleased with this wine.
