Beautiful aroma of sweet cherries, pure fruit. Some savory sweet beef jerky emerged later. Balanced mix of fruit and acids with some slight tannins on the palate. Concentration is light, however, leading to short finish. Very good drink that can definitely last a few more years with proper cellaring.

The bottles I have opened seem to vary in quality, and have everything to do with getting air onto the scene to settle it out. Some I have opened I have let decant for several hours, or even overnight. Since I didn't have that kind of time for this latest one, I did a quadruple vinturi aerator for each glass. It was great ... and the tannins for this bottle were less intrusive than the last bottle; back to my …

Aromas and flavors of enjoyable cow pasture, red berries, and a little toasted cedar. Medium to full bodied on the mouthfeel. Long finish with sweet tannins. Has at least another 5 years to go.

Solid wine. Funky on open, but very dark fruit, licorice, plum, raisins after an hour of decanting. Solid color, good viscosity. Still firm tannins, good mouthfeel, moderate length. My one and only bottle of this, and a very good bottle that was.

PNP, drank over a couple of hours. Big nose of blackberries, black cherry and plums. More of the same on the palate with close to balanced herbal action going on. Thick, almost chewy. Probably on the down side, but still nice and value packed at the state monopoly store sale price of $13.

Sorry to see my last go, but this remains a fantastic wine. Love the new worlds w/ old world twists. Will always be a classic in my memories!

The nose is big with blackcurrant, dusty cocoa, violet, leather, and truffle oil. The flavor profile is similar to the nose, with an added raisin blast. The finish is thick, chewy, viscous, and is what makes this wine excellent. It's got solid structure, depth, and acidity.

A very good bottle of wine. Great aromas of cow pasture, dark berries, and leather. Medium body on the mouthfeel with intense flavors of dark cherry, cassis, and earth. There is still a good amount of acidity to this. Long and flavorful finish.

Another awesome bottle. Definitely past its peak, but still outstanding. So much going on in the nose; seems like every smell is a new experience. At times barnyard, wet soil, manure, sometimes cherries, cassis, anise, cedar, and other times iron, rust and toasted oak. Fully mature and beautiful. If only every wine could deliver this complexity for the price... (NB, consumer over three days w/ zero degradation - only improved)

A well balanced California Cabernet. Medium red with lightening apparent at the edge and then some. Mild nose of currants and cedar. Medium body. Acidity complements this wine. The finish is pleasant, but not long, with mild tannins.

Very nice bottle. Full, round, smooth taste but lots of oak. It's obviously reached its maturity. Pleasant surprise for the price.

I drank this over a few days by re-corking the bottle and storing in the refrigerator. This bottle was better than my last. The second day was great with aromas and flavors of red currant and dark cherry. Medium to full bodied. The oak is fully integrated. Finish was pleasant. Enjoy this as a classic aged cabernet. Consistent w/ prior notes. Really nice and persistant cassis with licorice and wood. Damn I like this stuff.

A smooth aged California cabernet. Pleasant and good, but not exciting.

Perfectly aged and drinking beautifully. The nose is complex with cassis, leather, spice and a hint of herbaceous/black olive once it opened in the decanter. Tannins are still evident but add nice structure and mouthfeel that would be missed if this was aged much longer. A beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable bottle of wine.

Mature, brick red color gradually fading toward the edges. Big, clean aromas of new leather, barnyard, and bright red cherries, well balanced by a touch of oak. Mouthwatering on the palette; savory cherries, balanced by gentle cassis and hints of allspice, glide through the mouth, while smooth, integrated tannins allow subtle earthen tones to linger a while. Light to medium bodied; fully mature, balanced, gentle and beautiful. I wouldn't wait much longer to drink this. Drink now and over the …

Nose of cherry, cedar, black currant and some cigar box. Rich and ripe on the palate with a delicate balance and smooth oak tannins. Cherry, vanilla, plum and earthy spices become more pronounced after half an hour in the glass. Turns to mostly plum and tobacco juice at the end. Long and smooth finish with a touch of orange peel.

14.5% ETOH. Consumed over 2 days. Initial nose of earthy barnyard and a little poop, nice mineral and multivitamin notes over sour red cherry, red plum, berries, spicy black pepper , dark bittersweet cocoa, hints of licorice, subtle vanilla and cedar, and even some black olive notes eventually came out. A medium to full bodied wine with bone dry spicy fruit, funky yet nice earthy terroir, and well structured by firm tannins. Very bordeaux like. enjoyable.
