Cork taint? Couldn’t drink

Very interesting after all these years. Lighter brick coloring. Lots of development and still with some red fruit balance along with spice, raisin richness, and many other things I don’t remember how to describe. I certainly would be buying more Ledge and keeping for 5-10 years. These vines were just really coming into their own in 14 I think. Compared to Ledge wines from more established vineyards it didn’t hold up quite as long. Makes me believe newer vintages would …

Dark berries, licorice, and a floral finish. Not going to get any better…drink up.

Last bottle in the cellar, and it is at its best. Bursting with juicy raspberry with fine tannins.

Lighter in color than expected. But the nose was explosive. It had a multi layered finish. Not what I expected but very enjoyable. May be in a good drinking window right now. Last bottle. It has given me some interest in buying more Ledge - but he doesn't ship to Georgia anymore. Oh well...

Aging very well. Violets, bright raspberry, warm spice. Long finish with smoked meat. Decanted 30 minutes.

Deep ruby. Surprising old-world profile to the nose along with CA fruit underlying in a complex and seamless way. Dark plum, currant and blackberry fruit, pepper and smoked meat. Blackberry and strawberry on the palate, adding vanilla, bacon and black pepper. Acidity and tannins seamlessly integrated, and the body has lift and freshness. I'm not sure what longer aging brings these wines, but this is fantastic now. I think he is unfortunately not making a 100% Syrah from this vineyard …

60% Syrah; 40% Grenache (label shows "Adams Ranch Vineyard" and does not designate as Syrah) I was a little worried upon opening as the nose and palate were overwhelming alcohol hot. There was definitely fruit on the nose but it was enveloped in a warm blanket of high ABV. Corked and put it into the fridge. Three hours later and I really like this. Similar to almost every Ledge wine I've had, there is a really great perfumed nose. Warm …

Decanted 2 hours. Much improved from my last bottle (89/100) so I think almost 3 years of additional bottle age helped a lot. This is a big wine, high abv, massive fruit, and still quite hefty structure. Blackberry, fig, licorice and spice, ending in a delicious dark chocolate and coffee melange. Drink now - 2024+.

Sheesh... Another great showing. Ripe fruit still showing up front and harmoniously integrated with the ~15.3% alc. Pristine precision, very juicy, lingering chewy tannins. Really no sign of age but drinking beautifully; I wouldnt risk much more cellaring.

Violet and raspberry on the nose. Some alcohol fumes, but not off-putting. Nice berry and hints of black olive in the mouth. Light bodied with a long finish. A tad astringent but very pleasant drinking at this point. I have three bottles remaining and look forward to seeing what another couple of years aging might bring.

Fruit forward, with dark overripe plum, fresh fig. Surprising soft. Easy drinking but did not hold interest. Drink up.

Splash decanted, consumed over the following 3 hours. I was hoping this would be similar to a Saxum Bone Rock Syrah, but that wasn't really the case. Robust, savory, with black fruit, leather and pepper, but the wine seemed slightly flat and one-dimensional. I think this just needs time. I would hold off on this for another couple of years and see how it evolves. Drink 2019-2024.

I don't really get olive like I did last time, but the fruit and bacon and mild late spice are there. It's good. If you see this at a restaurant or something, definitely get it.

Excellent showing. Bright and rich wine but in no way overbearing like so many James Berry examples. Taught acids, solid dark fruit core. The question is ageability... with the alcohol so well in check I'm hopeful out to 2019/2020.

Cherry, raspberry and spice. Calmed down in the bottle already and drinking great. Will certainly gain more nuance but tempting to keep drinking now anyway.

Very disappointing knowing the quality juice Mark Adams produces. For a Syrah/Grenache blend, it was too light on taste. Even the color was light. Just disappointing.

Wow that's good. Bright fruit on nose layers into olives, frying bacon and more black fruit. Opens into greater complexity with developing spice notes. Gets better and better until it's gone.
